Ismaye discovers alcohol - gasp.

Previous Next

You follow the path over a few dunes, black sand underfoot as you approach the beach.

Jalani comes over the dunes and down the path from the jungle clearing.

Varruc chuckles as he takes Ysbal's hand and swings her out into the dancing "I'm Varruc. Could I meet your friend?"

Ismaye tiptoes daintily through the black sands, holding her skirts high enough so that (gasp!) her ankles are in clear view. The Headwoman, on her very, very rare nighttime walk, looks up, espying the previous inhabitants of the beach with a mostly muffled gasp of sorts. She says nothing. Dancing!

Ysbal giggles, "Suuure, " she turns the bottle over to Varruc, "Gotta be careful though. If you shake him to hard he lets out a little wine."

Belena lets out a whoop as a bronze rider smacks her passing bottom, "Hey! I'm not dancing with you! I'm dancing with Kassandra!" And with that, she smacks that hand and moves in closer to Kass. Someone passes her the desired bottle and she takes a nice draught, not missing a beat. She turns to look at the circle of men watching her dancing with the bluerider and she shakes a finger, "See something that interests you boys?"

Jalani walks down the beach, right behind Ismaye. The wicked little greenrider wolf whistles at that flashing ankle. "Be still my beating heart..." She peers out at the dancing group. "My oh my.. and no one invited me."

Ismaye's head turns, and she does the obvious; she blushes. "You are making fun of me again." Sniff goes the nose, as she eyes the dancing with distaste. "You'd only spoil it, I suspect," she adds, not mentioning as to why -she- was not invited herself.

Kassandra is one seriously drunk little wingleader...and as usual, it's Belena's fault. Whirl and twirl, and somehow she manages to keep her balance...mostly. Until she stumbles, and falls almost right on top of a brownrider. "Mitts off," she giggles drunkenly. "Spoken for. Y'don't want T'rrent mad at you, d'you?" Said brownrider lets her go, right quick, and Kass stumbles for her precious bottle, still by Didarath. "Back in a sec," she calls, taking a pull from the bottle.

The group of beach-made instrument playing riders grin as they change the beat once again. Set off by the sound of lightning, they beat out a storm of their own.

Jalani sniffs. "I am not making fun of you at all. You got cute ankles, that is all." She winks and makes her way down the beach. "Me? Spoil a thing, I do believe you are growing soft, Ismaye."

Ismaye? Soft? She sniffs, but follows the greenrider with some decorum, nose sniffing again as Kassandra's drunken stumbling is noticed. "Ugh," is the comment made, by anyone who is close enough to hear.

Belena manages to catch a glimpse of another greenrider, "Jalani!" She calls, "Where were you when we were gathering people to come down to the beach?" She points to the bush where the good stuff, the Benden Wine to be exact, is hidden. "Look over there." Wink. She waits patiently, drinking from her own bottle, for Kass to return and resume their dance.

Jalani smirks. "Probably on sweeps dealing with a growly cotholder." She follows Belena's arm and heads to the wine. "Where did you get this stash from?"

Ismaye stays at a distance, as one with any sense would, eyeing the proceedings. "I would think that there has been enough wine inbibed already. Perhaps it would be a good idea to save such good vintage for when you are sober enough to enjoy it." Her feet shuffle; this is obviously a situation she isn't comfortable in.

As others appear on the beach Ysbal calls out to them, "Hey! It's raining and we're halfink a celebration. Wine, women, men, dance and more wine!"

Kassandra takes a large pull from her bottle, and blinks owlishly at Ismaye. "Ugh? Why ugh? Stuff's great." With that, she takes another pull...and stumbles, only Didarath's wing saving her from falling facefirst to the wet sand. "Whoops."

Belena just can't wipe that grin from her face, especially when her bronzer from before lifts her and twirls her around, "I have my connections in the kitchens still, Lani."

Jalani grins and reaches for a bottle, her expression changing to one of disappointment. "It's empty... Bel." She shrugs and settles against a tree, safely out of the rain to watch. "Besides, nothing is as hard to join a party in full swing."

Ismaye's long cape, which is no doubt meant for protecting her from the elements, such as the rain, swishes about her, getting wetter and wetter as it drags, and she attempts to hold up her skirts. Kassandra doesn't grace an answer; merely a sniff of her nose. Uncivilised, all of them.

Belena holds up a hand, "Oh, Lani." She looks down at the bronzerider who is holding her in the air, "Take me over there, you." Patpat, and the good little bronzer does just as she asks. "Here." She offers Jalani her bottle, still rather full. Bel was to busy dancing to drink.

Kassandra takes another slug from the bottle, and hands it out in Jalani's direction. At least, what she thinks is Jalani's direction. Seeing that Bel provided the other greenrider with a bottle, she shrugs, and raises it to her lips again...and almost splutters as Didarath nudges her. "Wha? Now? Home? Why?"

Jalani smirks, and shakes off the bottle. "No, you keep it, I could never caught up to where you are. I came down for some fresh air." She chuckles as Didarath steps in. "Lifemates .. I hate when they talk sense into you."

Ysbal looks around for her dance partner. Nope? She goes back and squishes her way through the riders and goes back to w...She frouns, show over. She just plops herself onto the moist sand, cradles a bottle in her lap, looks up to the sky, opens her mouth and lets the rain pour in while she brushs back her hair.

Ismaye, with a sigh of resignation, seems to have accepted that she's going to be overruled. The young Headwoman turns, ending up by a different tree to Jalani's and watches, leaning stiffly against the wood with a look of pure distaste. "They will all regret it in the morning, when they're all with child, and horrible." Rain drips down her face, plastering a single curl to her forehead.

Belena grins, "And /that/ is exactly why I didn't argue when Aiareth wanted to watch the storm from our porch. No pesky green dragging me home." But her expression is ammused. And catching the end of Ismaye's objection, "I must assure you, headwoman," And she raises her bottle to the woman, "I will not go home pregnant. I'm just playing around with this handsome devil here." And she pets the rider's head again.

Jalani smirks. "Don't think they would know they were with child for quite a few sevendays after the fact and ..well, there are hangovers. But they are young and if I'd been here earlier.. I'd have joined them, heartily. This is fun, Ismaye. Remember?"

Kassandra snorts, even while clambering--ungracefully--up Didarath's side. "No kids fer me," she says with a crooked grin. "Leastways, not here...and not while I'm leadin' a Wing." Apparently something still lingers in the alcohol-induced fog that is her mind. "T'rrent's feelin' lonesome, wants me home," she quips with a grin. "See y'all later."

Kassandra climbs up Didarath's forearm and swings into her customary position on his back, favoring his shoulder with a loving pat.

Didarath croons something, before lifting skyward, into the rain.

Didarath launches himself into the sky with a spray of fine black sand to mark his passage.

From the northern sky, Didarath springs into the sky from the beach.

"Fun?" The word is echoed from Ismaye with a slight amount if dissatisfaction, as if she'd done her best to avoid it. "Why is it fun? What is fun about it?" She sniffs again, commenting to Belena, "Playing, as I have discovered in my turns here, often turns into a lot more." Kassandra is eyed in turn, with a sniff, but her comment remains unsaid.

Jalani rolls her eyes at that sniff and hands the girl a handkerchief "Blow, and get it over with already. Can't abide that."

Ysbal watches the dragon depart then looks around to the others. The drowned rat speaks, "Really?"

Jalani follows the path up toward the jungle, disappearing over the brough of a sand dune.

Ismaye only sniffs more, announcing, "I have my own handkerchief, thank you very much." She glances as Jalani goes, looking almost triumphant, perhaps.

Belena reaches down with the bottle again, "Ismaye, are you /sure/ you don't want some? I promise you I'm not drunk and look how much I've had." And, in truth, she's not drunk. "It's good wine and, like you said, I shouldn't waste it on getting drunk. I've had enough already." And the devil tempts.

Ismaye opens her mouth to say something, and admits, "It would be going to far better use than on you---" wait for the word; it's coming, "lot. But I do not drink; never have."

Belena arches her brow in surprise as the bronze rider places her down in the sand near the headwoman, "You're kidding." And this statement is emphasized by the bronzer's stare too, "Ismaye, didn't you know it's good for you? The healers say everyone should have /at least/ one glass a day." Suuure Bel, but she's a good actress and /sounds/ like she knows what she's talking about.

Ismaye sits primly, wrapping the folds of her cloak about her legs, and yes, hiding her ankles again. "Good for me?" she queries, her voice soft, "Why is it good for me? Do you have proof?" But, perhaps, she's failing a little. Tempting, after all.

Belena sighs, "Yes, good for you. The healers say that it helps blood flow at that it could potentially save your life if something happens, say, during a threadfall." She offers over the bottle, "And, it tastes good. You can't beat a remedy that tastes good."

Ysbal giggles, "Eyes dohnt drink an' it's good stuff." She waggles a bottle in the air.

Ismaye eyes the bottle very carefuly, as if weighing it up mentally. Finally, in an act that could possibly be considered an attempt at fitting in, she takes it into her hand. Ysbal is shuddered at; remind her never to act like that. Tentatively, she glances at the bottle, swallowing, and takes a sip. Silence.

Belena waits a moment, eyeing the headwoman with anticipation, "Well? What do you think? That one's a particularly good white, very sweet as far as wines go." And then she is silent again, awaiting reaction.

Ismaye swallows, pulling her lips together as she considers. Finally, "It--it is sweet. Perhaps a little too sweet, but not so bad. Still, I don't see why people are so enticed to drink so much."

Belena shrugs, "I can't explain it, it's a phenomenon that has been going on for ages. Still, a few glasses won't hurt you." She smiles a bit wrily at Ismaye, "I can't believe that /you/ of all people didn't know about it's healt benefits." She grins at Ysbal and points over the girls shoulder, "Rider, headed your way."

Ysbal tilts her head back, archs her back almost looking upside down, "Where, where? Wanna dance?" A thought comes to mind, she stoppers up the wine and sets the bottle in the sand all nice and cozy.

Ismaye ohs, glancing at the bottle held delicately within her hand. She glances about almost furtively, then takes another small sip. Having to complete the action, and all. "Why should I know of the health benefits? I tend to avoid conversation of alcohol in any form."

Belena nods, understandingly, "Ah, that must be where the information slid by. One of the benefits of not avoiding 'impolite' conversation is that you don't miss out on the facts." Sounds nice, doesn't it? An eye is kept on Ysbal, "Whatcha doin there?"

Ysbal giggles still looking upside down, "I'm lookin' for thatrider you was puttin..errr pointing out."

"Or fiction." But it doesn't sound all so convincing from Ismaye, who has since taken a third sip. Very cautiously, of course, and only very tiny, but it's a start, right. She glances up at Ysbal, shutting her eyes, and shuddering. Again.

Belena grins and points to a rugged looking brownrider looking her way, "I think he's all yours if you want him. Ooh! And look at his butt swaying to the music!" Bel just admires for a moment. "You know, Ismaye, drunk or not, that rider is looking good. That is one thing I'll say for these gathering situations, the men come out for the occasion and loosen up. Mmm, mm."

Ysbal hops to her feet, leaving the wine behind and bounds over to the jigglin' rider, "Let's dance."

Ismaye considers this with lips pursed -- and wine-moistened -- and shrugs her shoulders eloquently. "Perhaps for you, certainly. I, on the other hand, would rather not look. I'd rather have a man choose me for my personality, than my looks, and vice versa."

Belena purses her lips and looks positively smug, "Oh, Ismaye, don't tell me you've never seen a really good looking man and wondered if he found you attractive. It's rather empowering, I think."

Ismaye shakes her head. At least, she's not admitting to such a reaction. The silly thing is really an ice maiden, and it's a waste. "I'd rather him appreciate my work, than my looks." The wine is re-offered to Belena. Evidently, she's wisened up to her actions.

The rugged brown rider sweeps Ysbal off her feet, the pair dance to the music. A ltitle idle chatter ensues while doing so. "Ooh, stop, you're just saying that 'cause I'm dancing with you." He laughs, "No, I'm saying it because you are." Ysbal's cheeks turn a light crimson.

Belena conveniently doesn't see the offered bottle. "But why? I mean, that's what I'd look for in a weyrmate but when I walk into a room? I don't want men saying, 'Wow, what a great pair of riding straps,' because you know what? That gets you no where. I want them saying, 'Wow, what a great looking girl, I want to talk to her.' That way, I get my choice and if I don't like them and they don't make an effort /after/ that to get to know me and appreciate my work, that's when I ditch 'em because I know I can always find someone better." Well, it's interesting logic. She laughs at Ysbal, "You behave there, don't do anything I wouldn't do." And what won't Bel do again?

In mid spin Ysbal catchs Belena's comment, "I...I wo...nope....not gonna. It's been way to long since I've had a time like this and I'm just enjoying all the flattury, friendships and the wine."

Ismaye waggles the bottle, as if trying to catch Belena's attention with it, and then sighs, setting it near her feet. If she can't see it, it won't bother her, right? "Well, yes. But I see no need to catch a man, anyway. A man could mean babies." And just imagine Ismaye-the-mother. "That one will get pregnant before her time, mark my words," she mutters, eyes catching on Ysbal. "A little---" she doesn't finish it, but one can guess that it's not complementary.

Belena pahs, "Nah, I think she'll be good. She's just having fun." She actually ponders the question of children, "You know, I don't particularly care to be pregnant just yet but being able to just be with Valin would make it worth wild. If children is what it takes to continue as his weyrmate, I'll deal with it."

Ismaye's eyes flicker open again, and she asks, "Why are you spending time with men now, if you have a weyrmate already? Why look at men at all?" She who does not look at men at all (at least, not obviously) does not pick up the wine again. No, I mean, really. Well, at least, no one is supposed to see it, and see her take a sip. "You think she'll be good? I don't know."

The rider, suave, saphisticated enamoring swift peels off such a line on Ysbal. The girl giggles, "No, no." He aptly whimpers, "Yes?" She smirks and slips from his grasp, "Noo."

Belena grins at Ysbal, "I do think she'll be good," No comment is made about the stolen sip, just a faint trace of a smirk, "Why do I spend time with men? Valin doesn't like to dance and I love it. They know and I know that it's just play and what am I to do? Tear out my eyes because I have a weyrmate? I think Aiareth would be quite displeased with that. I can still look and admire. It doesn't mean I'm going to do anything about it, or even want to." The greenrider's features soften a bit, "It's funny, no matter how goodlooking the man, he never seems as appealing as Valin."

Ismaye sniffs, and everyone knows how expressive that can be. "Oh," she says, at length. "I still think it's wrong, to look at a man that should be worrying over available women." She pauses, and her voice softens a little, as she asks, quietly, "Are you in love with Valin, then?"

Belena actually blushes at that, "Oh yes. I just couldn't help myself. He's so...wonderful. Even when he's not. Even when he drives me nuts! I love him more then, I think. At his worst."

Ismaye keeps on drinking, although at random intervals, and certainly not much at all. Nonetheless, it's a fair bit more than she's ever had. She certainly seems to be loosening, slightly. "Oh. I suppose--yes."

Ysbal dogdges a rider or two with a slip, a dip and a trip and makes her way to Ismaye, "Hi."

Belena smiles at Ysbal, "We're talking about love. Ever been in love, Ysbal?"

Ismaye glances up at Ysbal, managing not to wrinkle her nose. The wine is again brought to her lips, although not for long.

Ysbal squishies her toes in the damp sand, "Love? No. Never had the inclination for it." A look goes down to her tootsies, "But, I suppose there's a first for anything." Like wine for instance, "That's a good wine. Never had anybody before."

Belena grins, "I grew up at Southern Boll and one of my favorite memories of then concerns wine. My Grandma, at the end of each day, would sit before the hearth in the kitchen and I would sit with her and we would talk about our day and she'd tell me stories from when she was a girl and we'd share a glass of Night wine. Well, that's what I called it anyway." She grins, "And when I fell in love for the first time, some of my favorite moments with him were over glasses of wine."

"I thought," says Ismaye, leaning against the tree with some degree of looseness, "that love just happened. No matter if you wanted it or not." The bottle remains in her hand, resting against her cloak, as the rain drips down. "You have drunk for a long time, then, Belena. Over the turns."

Ysbal tilts her head, "I dunno. If you don't want to be loved then you don't want to be."

Belena smiles a bit, "I know I didn't want to fall in love again after Rollynd died. We were betrothed from the time we were small children. It's actually the reason I came here. I was trying to get away. When I met Valin, it was just a game, I had no idea I'd fall in love all over again. But I wouldn't trade it for anything."

Ismaye fingers the bottle in her hand, her eyes going glassy as she listens. "Mmmm. I suppose it just happens, when it happens. If you're open to it, deep inside."

A thoroughly entertained smile playes on Belena's lips as she eyes Ismaye. Still, she says nothing of the wine just yet, "Have you ever been in love, Ismaye?" She pulls her hands back through her hair, keeping the wet red locks from dripping water in her eyes.

"Me?" This earns a laugh from the relaxing Headwoman, who insists, "No, no indeed. I left home in order to go someplace where it wasn't expected for me to Handfast, and make babies." This is followed by a brilliant blush, and a quick sip to regain her composure.

Belena giggles, "That is really a shame, you know, because that's one of the best parts. So different with someone you love than with someone you don't." And she can't help from adding, "But still, not bad with someone you don't." Wink.

"You must have lived as a holder or something ma'am.", replies Ysbal. "I've been lucky to be away from that nonsense myself. I was born intact and to this day I'm still intact." And then she giggles.

Ismaye turns her head from Belena. She's not quite indulged herself enough to take that step. "Ismaye, please. Not ma'am. Never ma'am." Or Issy, if one is particularly interested in seeing her fume. "And yes, a hold. I don't quite know whether I'm better off here, or there."

Ysbal smiles, "Well met Ismaye, I'm Ysbal. I'm proud as a gold rider to meet you. Um, a gold rider I'm not but I'm well you get the idea."

Darkness descends in full force as the storms begin to dissipate for a few candlemarks in the dead of the night, still but heavy in the cool autumn night.

Belena snorts as Ismaye looks away and then smiles lightly at her comment, "I was born and raised in a hold but I think the weyr suits my personality better. I like how everyone is so different here and you can be yourself and not have to worry about people not liking you." She shakes her head, "I can't tell you how many of the hold girls didn't like me because I wasn't prim and proper."

"Ysbal," Ismaye repeats, adding, "You might have to remind me in the morning. I'm feeling a little fuzzy." Her eyes glance towards Belena, and she nods, "You seem like a weyr girl, to me." Which may or may not be an insult, in this frame of mind of Ismaye's.

Belena can't help but point it out now, "Ismaye, I do believe you may be slightly drunk." Grin.

Ysbal giggles, "Now don't feel bad if I do the same, I've a horrid memory for names."

Ismaye? Drunk? Oh dear me, no! Well..."No, I don't think so. I don't get drunk." She nods vaguely towards Ysbal, murmuring, "Usually -- but now..."

Belena shakes her head, "No, perhaps you're right, you would know if you were drunk, wouldn't you?" Her green eyes glitter at the headwoman.

Ysbal giggles, "Ummm, Ismaye, let me tell you....a rider would call me a cheap date...one glass of wine and the date is over.."

Ismaye nods quickly, reclining against the tree with an air of laziness not seen in her, at least, not often. "That's right, I would." And she hasn't lost control of her speech, at any rate. Still as proper as ever. "Really, Ysbal? Perhaps you don't have high tolerance. Unlike myself." She blinks, once, grasping onto a tree root, as her head wobbles a little. Not drunk. Right.

Ysbal giggles, "Uh, I think when it comes to tolerance you have to have been having wine quite a bit, like ummm, ummmm, " she ponders a moment to think, "Like Belena here, has. yes."

Belena idly plays with a wet piece of red hair, "You know, I don't particularly care for being drunk. I much prefer that place where you feel warm and relaxed by the wine, you know, where you feel a bit fuzzy and things just seem funny."

Ysbal giggles, "Yah, unfortunately for us cheap dates we don't get that euphoria, it's more like more, more..then...out..."

Ismaye wrinkles her nose at Ysbal, as if trying to work out exactly what the girl said, and failing at it. "No, I can't imagine you would, 'lena. Sounds nice, that fuzziness."

SOmebody must be hanging out with C'ley to much. Ysbal turns to look at the surf as it dashes up against the shore.

Belena looks over at the dispersing crowd of the rain party. One particularly...well, for lack of a better word, geeky looking young man chases after an obviously disinterested young woman and stumbles over his own feet and nearly falls flat on his face. Belena laughs a little, "Oh dear, it would seem he's drunk though, to be chasing a flit like her." She giggles again.

Ysbal at the moment seems engrossed in the rain's effects on the surf. Something causes her to turn about, "Huh? Somebody chasing a firelizard?"

Ismaye's eyes follow Belena's gaze, and she laughs, softly. "Idiots. That's why everyone should stay away from wine." Her head lolls a little; this someone should probably stay away, too.

Belena snorts softly at Ismaye and Ysbal, "No passing out there, Ismaye." She grins, "Can you walk home on your own?"

Ysbal giggles, "Uh, I might have a bit of trouble." She looks around, "I'll have to find my boots first."

Ismaye blinks, staring at Belena curiously, "Passing out? Walk home on my own? I don't see why not." Although getting up might be a bit of a challenge.

Belena yawns a little, "Why don't we test it out before I leave you two here, I've got to be up for drills tomorrow morning." She glances from face to face, still a bit unbelieving that she actually got Ismaye to drink that wine and completely ammused by that fact.

Ismaye certainly won't believe it herself, when she wakes up in the morning. Over the time, she's imbibed perhaps a third of the bottle -- which is pretty amazing for the Headwoman. "Maybe we should." She pulls against the tree, tripping on her skirts. Oops.

Ysbal giggles and takes those first few cautious steps then feeling comfortable enough, she makes her way to her boots and stips over and picks them up. Of course she some how manages to do some sort of flip and land on her buttocks, "Yikes."

Belena giggles a bit at Ismaye's antics and then out right laughs at Ysbal, "I think I'd better walk you two back to the weyr or call Aiareth or something." She moves to help the headwoman straighten herself out.

Ismaye looks up at Belena with a somewhat confused look on her face. "I can't understand why I can't..." She uses the greenriders help with thanks, managing to wobble to her feet. "Perhaps I'll sleep in the guest room, tonight. It's closer than mine." She squeezes her eyes shut, then nods. "Yes, I think I will."

Ysbal gets to her feet and turns about, sand clinging to her all over the place, "Ummm, " she gets that odd looking dance, "Belena, can I go wee?"

Belena loses it, "Wee!" And she is in a fit of giggles, not much support for drunk people when she's doubled over, "Oh, oh, that was too good Ysbal!" She flaps her arm in the direction of a nearby tree, "We'll keep the men away, won't we, Ismaye? Go over there."

Ismaye attempts -- peculiarly, certainly -- to look tough, nodding her head, and then stopping, as her head obviously spins. "Yes. We're tough. We can fight them off." She's frowning, as if she can't quite see something that she should be able to.

Ysbal gives Belena a shiftly look and does it anyways. Her hands go up in the air, "Weeeeeeeeee!" A giggle erupts from her lips with boots now in hand the girl bounces back over to Belena and Ismaye, "Ok, I'm armed and dangerous. Let's go."

Belena starts laughing all over again at Ismaye's tough look and then at Ysbal's antics. It is then that Belena's bronzerider from before, that handsome rugged one, notes the womens' struggles and approaches the trio, "Can I help you there?" Belena looks him over, a little unsure of what to say, "No, I don't think so, I can probably get them both home okay." She looks from woman to woman. "I do have a dragon to help, after all." Isn't that appealing? Rising up and down adragonback?

Ismaye looks faintly sick, but manages a smile. "Yeah, we'll be fine. I'm fine. Perfectly fine." Just dizzy. yeah.

Ysbal looks at everybody booted and dangerous, "Let's go.."

Belena's eyes go distant as she asks Aiareth to come and get them. In the mean time the bronzer looks a bit concerned, "Are you sure you'll be able to ride okay, Headwoman? I'd hate to see a pretty lady like you sick adragonback." Belena's attention is back by the end of this and she looks sharply at him, "We're fine. We're not going home with you. Besides, are you calling my Aiareth a bumpy ride?"

Ismaye eyes the bronzerider with a curious frown, and then shakes her head. "We'll be fine. A green is lower to the ground." Yes, she can remember that, and look normal. Somewhat. "Besides, I'm perfectly fine. Nothing wrong with me."

Ysbal simply stands quietly knocking off bits of sand here and there.

The bronzer snorts, "Sorry to say it, Headwoman, but you've been drinking wine and it's quite obvious." He shakes his head, "Don't say I didn't warn you." And he walks off. Hmph! Belena glares at him, "We don't need him, Ismaye. A real woman can hold her liquor anyway." And at that, Aiareth appears in the sky and lowers herself to the beach near her lifemate.

Aiareth drops down to a landing from the sky overhead.

Ysbal grins, "Ooooh, a dragon." She looks around, "Umm, this will be my first time astride a dragon, just to let you know."

Ismaye nods vaguely at Belena, although she scowls at the bronzerider. He's tarnishing her reputation, after all. She glances at Aiareth, nodding a polite greeting to the green. "G'deve, Aia--aia--aiareth."

Belena grins, "Well, I hope you enjoy the ride then, Aiareth's a wonderful flier. She'll make sure you get home well and safe. All ready to hop astride?" She examines the other two once more to make sure they're okay to do this.

Ismaye leans against the tree quickly, then nods, straightening. "Yes, I'm ready." She steps forward, wobbling slightly, and gives the green and her rider an engaging smile. Perfectly sober, really.

Ysbal giggles, "Ok..well umm, how do you get on such a fine dragon?"

Aiareth whuffles slightly, apparantly ammused at something. Belena, on the other hand, scowls, "Yes, it's not me this time." And she pulls herself up onto her lifemate's neck by way of the green's lowered leg. She holds out a hand to the other two women, "Take my hand and step up on her leg."

Belena climbs up to Aiareth's back.

Ismaye grabs at Belena's hand, unceremoniously hauling herself aboard. Her skirts, and cloak, are everywhere, but she manages to get atop the green.

Huh? (Type "help" for help.)

You climb up to mount Aiareth

** Ysbal watchs, "Weeeelll that looks easy enough."

Belena turns to strap Ismaye in and then, once she is secure, offers her hand back out for Ysbal.

Ismaye settles herself, and her skirts, looking mostly at home atop the green. A thankful glance is given to Belena as she is strapped in, her head lolling on her shoulder. "Feeling tired, now. Sleepy."

Ysbal joins you on Aiareth's back.

Ysbal clambers up and sits down, "Hey, hey, no crowding. This is my first time on a dragon." She looks at Ismaye.

Belena twists around and tightens Ysbal's straps around her and, giving Aiareth the okay, "Here we go." She grins as Aiareth springs into the air.

You spring aloft, finding the currents to carry you into the sky.

Ismaye glances back at Ysbal, then goes pale, as the green springs upwards. Seems someone isn't quite used to flying drunk.

You wing down to a landing in the northern bowl.

She does it a gain, "Weeeeeeeeeeee!", Ysbal laughs, "This is wow, look, everybody is so small!"

Ismaye blinks at Ysbal, then swallows, looking relieved. They're down. On the ground. She's---safe? "Thank you, Aiareth," she murmurs, "And Belena. I think I'm going to go to bed."

You climb down from Aiareth.

Kirtian heads over from the southern end of the bowl.

From Aiareth's back, Ysbal giggles, "Ok to get down?"

Kirtian says "help?"

From Aiareth's back, Belena grins and gestures to the ground, "All set."

Ysbal climbs down from Aiareth's back.

Ysbal bows to rider and dragon, "My thanks to yooooou both."

Ismaye blinks at Kirtian somewhat confusedly, as if her eyes aren't focusing, and half trips towards the caverns. "Sorry--'scuse me."

You head deeper into the bowl, in the general direction of the living caverns and Hatching grounds.

Auntie Iza grins and says conspiratorily, "You know what I saw? I was sitting out here, late one night, and in came the Headwoman, wobblin' as if she couldn't stand on her own two feet. Drunk as a Lord Holder, I say. And that Ysbal girl came soon after. And you know what I heard the next morning? She woke up in quarters that weren't her own, and came in here yelping about a bronzerider and a dragonride, and not remembering. Splitting headache, too. And we all thought she was such a lady. You can bet she'll never do -that- again."
