Arisvath and Niaryth view the world from the Star Stones, and the latter has a gift for the former.

Arisvath> As promised, Niaryth is perched on the Star Stone ledge. Her forelimbs are dangling over the precipice, folded over each other lazily. Her gaze is scanning the skys expectantly, the night not yet over. It is to be dawn soon, but she has an appointment just before... a very important date.

Arisvath> Arisvath's not late, though his flight is hurried, as if he cannot bear to miss a second. Backswinging downwards, he perches upon the edge of the stones, rumbling a deep, drawled greeting.

Arisvath> Niaryth stands, stretching a bit and then moving to resettle so that Arisvath may come next to her.

Arisvath> Arisvath gratefully accepts this opportunity, sidling up against Niaryth, his tail twining about hers without so much as a word.

Dragon> Arisvath senses that Niaryth speaks to you freely now because her lifemate is sleeping off the night. <>

Dragon> Niaryth senses that Arisvath's mind tells of dark secrets; the night is warm, the stars are high - and oh, how /glad/ he is to be here. << I could not let you down. >> His voice is but a whisper, gentle and warm.

Arisvath> Niaryth lets her tail twine with yours, her head nuzzling into your warmth and strength. She has one eye tilted to see the stars that you view so brightly in the sky.

Dragon> Arisvath senses that Niaryth knew you would not. She trusts in that << I view you in the highest of all ways Arisvath. You are like me and our temperaments match each other.>> She is pleased by that, brushing your thoughts with mellow warmth. << I would choose you... if no other can catch me.>>

Arisvath> Arisvath nestles himself closer still, wing stretching upwards to wrap about you - never mind that he's a full foot shorter. The stars are viewed with eyes whirling rapidly blue and green - though he's not blind to you, either.

Dragon> Niaryth senses that Arisvath's pleasure ripples like moonlight caught in a prysm, spreading beams across the world. << You are my queen, >> he murmurs, words barely formed - just thoughts, given direct. << I shall catch. No other could beat me. I have faith in this. >>

Arisvath> Niaryth moves under the wing as best she can, her head moving to settle under yours. She is not blind to you either, nor has she been since investigating the matter of bronzes and browns further.

Dragon> Arisvath senses that Niaryth gives encouragement to that faith, adding to it's solidity by tucking it away as if a promise for later. Practical, she has some doubts which can be sensed in her thoughts, but the loving side of her is trying to chase those thoughts away. Still she asks <> She doesn't seem to be conveying that either answer will affect her, she is after all herself. But there is hesitation in the thought.

Dragon> Niaryth senses that Arisvath's response is without words, but it is not unclear. The thought he projects is one of disappointment, perhaps even dismay -- but the wave of adoration and warmth does not cease, and his mind is rippled in contentedness.

Dragon> Arisvath senses that Niaryth is reassured by those thoughts. <> That one, being the most important with the weyr and then you in her best thoughts.

Dragon> Niaryth senses that Arisvath's delight is smoothed like a glassy lake, hardly rippling. << Then all shall be well, regardless,>> he decides, soothed in your presence.

Dragon> Arisvath senses that Niaryth is content to be silent for a little while, but her manners will not allow it to keep for long, wanting to ensure your comfort. << Arisvath how many beasts can you eat in one feast? >>

Dragon> Niaryth senses that Arisvath's thoughts turn questioning, though he answers readily: << Perhaps three, I suppose. I am not a great eater; often it is no more than two. >>

Dragon> Arisvath senses that Niaryth is cheerful finding that out << I am only able to eat two at one setting, unless I am really hungry. Serri lets me indulge more than two sometimes>> And then because she cannot remember the last time she did that she adds << I think>>

Dragon> Arisvath bespoke Niaryth with << She is very good to you, then, >> remarks the bronze, smoothing his thoughts out against yours. << R'hyn is careful that I do not overeat - and it still makes him queasy. >>

Dragon> Arisvath senses that Niaryth agrees to that, amused <> It makes no sense to her. One would think they'd get used to all that yummy, hot, warm blood.

Dragon> Niaryth senses that Arisvath's mind suggests an honest lack of knowledge. << I wish I could know. He says he just does not like the way it feels. I find /his/ meat dry, and disgusting. >>

Dragon> Arisvath senses that Niaryth shares that thought and her own is rather not pleasant. << What good is meat if you have no taste?>> Humans are quite weird, but lovable. << Serri said R'hyn does not wish to be anything more than a rider.>> Simple stated fact. << Could he be convinced otherwise?>>

Dragon> Niaryth senses that Arisvath's metaphorical nose is wrinkled. << I do not know. It is for enjoying, I believe - it should be tender, and juicy. >> He hesitates, then, musing over his thoughts. << Perhaps. He was once, before - I believe. I do not remember, but he was a Wingleader. He did not like it, or so he thought, but... Perhaps. >>

Dragon> Arisvath senses that Niaryth nuzzles her nose up into you. For a moment her thoughts are far away as if subjecting a message elsewhere, but then she is back to your thoughts. << Wingleader? What did he not like about it?>>

Dragon> Niaryth senses that Arisvath responds to that nuzzle, nudging his own against yours with quiet happiness. << He-- had difficulty believing that he could lead anyone, I believe. I do not remember; I can only draw on his memories. >>

Dragon> Arisvath senses that Niaryth continues the subject no further. Her thoughts turn to your interests instead. << Remember I asked if you would like the night to be yours to see all the time?>>

Dragon> Niaryth senses that Arisvath indeed remembers this - the sky is displayed within his thoughts, twinkling stars here and there. << I do, >> he agrees.

Dragon> Arisvath senses that Niaryth can supply you with this. She seems excited, her thoughts racing with delight. << I have found a way to do so!>> She shares that vision with you, the night sky, within the weyr overhead.

Dragon> Niaryth senses that Arisvath is curious; the colours of his mind twist and turn, thoughtful. << How? >> Fascinated.

Arisvath> Niaryth lifts her head. She tilts it until she can reaches around where her straps are. One of the tethered straps, she uses one of the five fingered hands they are fortunate enough to possess to grip a canvased tube. It's awkward but she pulls it around forward and hands the good sized tube over to you. It's nearly ten feet in width, the tube that is.

Arisvath> Arisvath's head is tilted to the side quizzically, and then he nudges at the tube. He's not quite got the control to hold it properly, so he peers at it curiously instead, attempting to pull the tapestry from the tube.

Dragon> Arisvath senses that Niaryth didn't have a problem getting the tube off but hadn't thought about how to get it out without ripping it. A little apologetic she asks << Do you want me to get Serri? Or R'hyn?"

Dragon> Niaryth senses that Arisvath hesitates, though his response is a negative. << They should sleep. It would not be fair to them. >> But still - how to get it out!

Dragon> Arisvath senses that Niaryth thinks this poses a problem then. What to do, what to do? Her thoughts radiate a worry and then suddenly brighten. << The cousin kin>> Her solution. << I shall call him!>>

Dragon> Niaryth senses that Arisvath's mind lights, and gleams, as he welcomes the little one with a soft rumble.

Arisvath> Twilight arrives on the ledge a bit late. The blue is chittering at being awoken so. He lands on Niaryth's head and chatters at her and Arisvath like an angry little neighbor. So much for a good night's sleep for the flitter.

Arisvath> Arisvath lifts his head up, nudging at Twilight with amusement.

Arisvath> Niaryth shakes her head, causing Twilight to reland. She turns her head at him and appears to talk to him, her thoughts indicating what she wants the firelizard to do. There's resistance as the blue chitter and then chitters again refusing the commands, but then seems to agree. His talons are smaller and he can do less damage to the thing.

Arisvath> Twilight spreads his wings, hopping off Niaryth's neck and floats down to the canvas tube. He peers quizzically at the tube, eyes whirling as Niaryth talks to him again. Little talons reach forward and grip the cap of the tube, pulling on it. He's little though, so the cap doesn't look to be moving.

Arisvath> Arisvath leans down, intent upon the task the firelizard is performing. He blinks several times, and nudges at it again. The cap. How to get the cap off?

Arisvath> Twilight tries again his talons ferrying into the cap as if that could put a dent in it. There's a squeal of triumph from the blue. The cap is nothing but hide that's been stretched over the end and a string of leather tied around the hide. All that pulling isn't necessary. He just rips through the hide getting to the thing inside. But that he can't get out. Whatever's inside the big tube, must be much to heavy for him to even try to pull out.

Arisvath> Arisvath trumpets in delight - only belatedly realising that there are probably dragons asleep about the weyr walls. Oh well. He grasps at the tube, now that the lid is off, and begins to shake it.

Arisvath> Niaryth is amused and croons, her own call softer, but no less in delight that the cap end is off. She waits to see if the tapestry will fall out now that the end is off. Clever Serri to make the packaging not as hard to open.

Arisvath> The tapestry does indeed fall out, unrolling along the edge of the ledge. Arisvath's delight is so great that he can barely audibilise it-- merely 'wow'.

Arisvath> Niaryth catches a corner before it can go further. She examines the spread out tapestry. The length of it is very long, nearly eighteen feet in length. The width is the same as the tube, ten feet wide and big enough to please a dragon's eye.

Arisvath> Arisvath lowers his head towards the tapestry, and nudges it once, then lifts his head again to nuzzle Niaryth.

Dragon> Arisvath bespoke Niaryth with << It is... /Beautiful/. >>

Arisvath> Rich gold thread marks the edges of the tapestry, weaving a border in a dark wheat color. Centered within the strands of gold, a black picture of the night sky is created by tight ebony weave. The black night sky is not alone because bright white dots reflect the stars in the heavens. There are several stars of many sizes dominated by two bright crescent stripes to the right corner of the tapestry. The brilliant colors used to reflect Timor and Belior, the moons of Pern, have silver strands creating a sparkle effect of a moon shimmering in the dark of night. Near the bottom of the tapestry is a pair of dragons entwined upon a sky perch. Gold and Bronze thread have been paired together to form the two winged creatures, setting upon a rock in a dark plum color, the perch shadowed by night.

Arisvath> Niaryth nuzzles Arisvath back, pleased by his reaction. She lays her head against his neck a soft croon issued forth.

Dragon> Niaryth bespoke Arisvath with << It is how I see you >>

Dragon> Niaryth senses that Arisvath rests against you, breath warm against yours. << It is as beautiful as I could ever imagine the sky to be - and you, too. >>

Arisvath> Niaryth is content to rest against you as the stars begin to wink out of the sky. She doesn't say much after gifting the present, because she is tired and seeks to nap near her chosen favorite.

Dragon> Arisvath senses that Niaryth is sleepy but her thoughts are warm and invite you to nap with her.

Dragon> Niaryth senses that Arisvath's content against you; warm, fluffy -- soothing, and sleepy. Good night.

Dragon> Arisvath senses that Niaryth is unable to help but correct <> with a light caress of thoughts. << It has been a good morning>> She's smiling in her dreams, happy.
