29-07-02: Thanks
Lydiere's 'assistant', Adareri, proves her use once again.

You stride east to the Living Caverns.
Lydiere's got her breeches rolled up to her knees, more or less, and she smells of salt and the sea, her hair whipped into knots and tangles around her face, though her skin is rosy with colour. Her bare feet pad along the floor towards the serving table, leaving sandy tracks in her wake. She pours herself a glass of juice, tossing her hair out of the way as she looks around for a seat amid the morning rush.

Adareri sits slightly near the serving table, apparently getting herself a light breakfast. Her plate has the remains of several fruits on it, as well as several whole ones, and she's got a glass of juice in front of the plate. She's reading from a hide while she eats. She occasionally glances up and around to see how the crowds are doing, and waves to Lydiere. "There's an empty seat over here, Lydiere." she calls, since there is a spot open across from her.

Lydiere picks herself up a muffin from one of the servers on her way past, meandering between the tables once she's caught Adareri's wave and call. "Many thanks!" she declares, sliding into the mentioned seat easily. "It's sometimes hard to try and find someplace in here, at this hour of the morning. Usually, I try to avoid it, but it was too beautiful a morning not to go for a walk-- and then I got hungry! How're you this fine morning, Adareri?"

Adareri laughs softly. "Yes, I know. I usually avoid it as well, especially when I have stuff to look over," her gaze goes back to the hide she was reading, then she looks back to Lydiere, "but I was too hungry to stay away and wait for a calmer time. I am quite well this morning, thank you. How are you?"

"What is it you're looking over?" wonders Lydiere, craning her neck in vain to get a better view, though she doesn't enjoy that activity for long; she's lazy, this morning, and instead flops back in her chair, breaking her muffin in half to let it cool. "I'm glad to hear it. I'm good, myself. Such a beautiful morning, out by the sea. I think the smell is infusing the whole weyr-- wonderful, wonderful smell." Salt and sand; wonderful indeed.

Adareri grins slightly. "Oh, just a hide I said I'd look over for a friend. She wanted to make sure everything was right on it before she gave it to the headwoman. Though why she thought she just couldn't go ask the headwoman I'm not sure.. oh well." she hmms softly. "I'll try to get out after breakfast then to sample this beautiful morning. I like going out when it's a beautiful day."

Lydiere tilts her head into a nod, asking no more questions - she's really not /that/ interested, though her smile is warm enough, nod quick. "Ah-hah," she comments. "I guess it can be a little intimidating, to talk to the Headwoman, sometimes. It's the whole flouncy knot thing." Smiling, the Junior Weyrwoman adds, "Do. I think it's far too lovely a day to be cooped up indoors. I think I'm going to work out on the ledge in the sun, and take Llysah so that she can get some sun, too."

Adareri laughs softly. "I don't know, I've never had any problems talking with the Headwoman." she grins. "When's the last time you were able to help bath Llysah? Perhaps on such a wonderful day she'd love a bath and then time to sit out in the sun? I could help with that, if you decide to do that.." she offers.

"Neither," confides Lydiere, "but some people are less confident than others, I suppose." Her eyes light, a smile broadening upon her face, "You have wonderful ideas, Adareri-- I think that would be an excellent thing to do. Say early this afternoon, if you're not busy?"

Adareri grins broadly as she takes a long swallow from her juice glass. "I'm not busy this afternoon, actually, so that sounds just fine. I'll just make sure to remember so if somebody else asks me for help I can tell them I already have something to do. Though to tell you the truth, I am a little nervous about it... I've never helped bathe any of the Golds here at the Weyr. or anywhere..."

Lydiere shakes her head. "There's absolutely no reason to be nervous," she says, assuringly. "Bathing a gold is no different from bathing any dragon - and any dragon is easy enough to bathe, though always time consuming. It'll be fun; it's always more fun when there's a lot of people involved. That's part of the reason I like it when Ysmalath is on the sands. There are candidates around, /and/ Llysereth and I aren't stuck on the sands, so we get to enjoy the efforts of the candidates."

Adareri nods slowly, listening apparently quite closely as she bites into the last fruit on her plate. she swallows, taking a drink from her cup to clear her throat properly before she says anything again. "Well then, I'll keep that in mind, and there shouldn't be any problems at all when I come help you bathe Llysereth. I do think it will be intersting. There's so much /more/ to a gold dragon than any of the others."

Lydiere takes a bite of her muffin, which has been separated into small pieces and laid upon the table - making a right awful mess. "Salty," she mutters, waving her hands around. "I should've washed my hands first." Her smile, however, is bright. "Interesting, perhaps. There /is/ a whole lot more, absolutely. It's a right awful pain; so much ground to cover!"

Adareri laughs softly. "How could your hands get salty enough to flavor the muffin? were you dipping them into the water or something?" she grins. "It shouldn't be a pain to bathe a gold. there's just more there to love." she murmers, a sparkle dancing in her eyes, her tone lightly teasing it seems.

Lydiere nods. "That I was. I was wading - and it's just nice to sweep your hands through the water." A chuckle follows, her head shaking wryly. "A whole lot more to love-- not that I'd ever complain. She's too dear for that. But..."

Adareri grins. "But... it's still a lot to take care of, no matter how dear she is to you, right?" she asks, guessing.

"Exactly," agrees Lydiere, ruefully. "And it's a task sometimes I wish I didn't have-- she understands that, too. But it has to be done."

Adareri nods. "Of course it has to be done. But really if she ever needs or wants a bath, and you're too busy, or you don't think you can handle doing it, just find me, or send a firelizard for me if you can. I could probably do it for you."

Lydiere smiles, drawing another bite of her muffin into her mouth. "You're too willing to oblige, almost, Adareri, though I honestly do appreciate it. Especially with the baby, and everything else... I may end up calling you up on that. Thank you."
