04-06-02: Wherrybound
Whilst Zymanth and Llysereth feed, their riders are able to catch up on each other's lives.

Away from Llysereth, Llysereth gives a plaintative warble as she circles towards the feeding grounds, not even managing to come to a complete landing before she lets Lydiere scamper off; the woman is clinging on, not even sitting properly, so as to make this an easier task. "There you go," she murmurs, soft and encouraging towards her lifemate, stepping away from the queen as she lifts off to dive towards a flock of wherries that can't quite escape her reach.

Llysereth's lowered forelimb proves a perfect perch, allowing you an easy advent to the ground below--where Llysereth's loving gaze captures yours for a brief moment of solitary adoration.

W'yn is sat on a rock, his feet crossed and his eyes seeming to stair before him. Zymanth on the other hand is literarly sat on a beast and devouring it. At the warble and motion both Zymanth and W'yn look over. Both showing pleasure at the arrival before back to where they were, W'yn stairing forward and Zymanth ripping.

Lydiere turns her head away from Llysereth's somewhat frenzied first course; the pallour of her expression indicates that, four months into her pregnancy or no, such sights do not exactly deal well with her stomach. This does, however, have the effect that she notices W'yn and Zymanth, greeting the former of the pair with a bright smile as she strides over, leaning up against a length of fencepost. "Afternoon, W'yn," greets Lydiere, whilst Llysereth sprays blood and guts towards Zymanth in a charecteristc huff of greeting.

W'yn is facinated for a moment with the blood and gore of such a greeting and it seems a while before W'yn answers. Finally as Zymanth stops eating to greet Llysereth so it breaks W'yn concerntration and he turns to Lydiere. "Hello. How are you? looking better.." he offers not seeing the rather sick look being by the feeding grounds. Swinging his legs round he turns to face his friend and smiles.

"Fascinating, isn't it?" quips Lydiere dryly, teasing in a soft tone towards her friend as she pulls herself up onto the rail, legs swinging over the edge. "I'm good," she agrees, without hesitating, "Much better, thank you. How about you, and Zymanth? He looks well." Llysereth's bloody carnage is given a half-lidded glance, her lips pursing slightly: "Must you be so messy about it, dearheart?"

Zymanth was sat upon his meal where he had caught it, and feeling slightly selfconsious of this lowers his forelegs and clasps the beast between them. With a few downwards, power-strokes he lifts himself neatly to the ledge near where Llysereth is, but not so close to get in the way. Zymanth looks up at the questions which echoes from W'yn but lowers to his meal quickly enough. "Zymanth is fine thankyou. Was complaining he was hungry not that I minded..its a great way to watch problems, stress or anything like that dissapear..thearapeutic." He knows not many people share this view so he looks round and up to Lydiere and grins cheekly before nodding. "Im well also, R'yn has had me running around all day but the errands are over for a moment. Went to Ista Hold this morning, the Tithe looks set to arrive..sorry I was supposed to report that to you.." he winces then at his lack of memory before he turns to look to Llysereth. "You know I have seen messier. She looks more like she is really enjoying it.." he would say that.

Llysereth warbles brightly towards Zymanth once more, this time managing not to spray the bronze with the remnants of her bloody meal - how very polite of her. She slides over, settling down comfortably as she tears the last pieces of meat from the bones of the corpse held tightly within two sets of talons - there are ten puncture marks, sharp and bloody, within the poor creature. "Is it?" Lydiere doesn't sound so sure, but nods bravely. "Well, you've reported it to me now, and I'll make sure Lymera knows, too. Good, though - we needed more fish, and I know Ista Hold had several barrels of salted fish on the list. Valesa will be pleased." Another glance is made towards Llysereth, Lydiere giving a wry smile. "As long as she's having fun."

Zymanth warbles back and goes to fly for his second meal. Just before sweeping up into the sky he stops and turns about to his wingtip. Hanging from it are a few slithers of innards sent his way from Llysereth. With a motion that looks rather awquard he removes them and with a sound that might be dragonic laughter leaps into the air. Here you see his mastery as he sweeps and hovers inches above the edge of the rim and goes to pick off the chosen beast, then you also see why Zymanth nearly didnt graduate as instead of tallons slipping into the beast and lifting it is a floury of wings and limbs as dragon and beast colide. W'yn winces and looks away as Zymanth, trying to gain some dignaty infront of Llysereth and Lydiere tries to regarine his posture. W'yn looks round and shakes his head. "Even after the extended lessons and extra sessions he still cant do it. Normally if another dragon turns up he will request to finish feeding later. Shows how relaxed he is with Llysereth and yourself.." Nodding then with what Lydiere spoke he nods. "The Hold were going to send the message with the list but I said I would report it. They were happy to accept. My memory I tell you it has been all over the place over the past few days. Since our beach outing, that was nice, its been well.." he shrugs and cant really explain what it has been like.

Lydiere winces slightly, although she attempts admirably to try and avoid the expression, especially upon a chiding warble from Llysereth; the queen feels for Zymanth, encouraging him with the most gracious, empathy-filled croon she can muster. /She/ would never laugh, nor make Zymanth feel bad. "Poor Zymanth," says Lydiere after a caution-filled nod. "I remember back when they were learning... But he makes up for it in other ways, doesn't he? And that's all that counts. Llysereth," Lydiere considers, "says she likes him that way. She'd like him any way." Shop-talk is never to be escaped, and Lydiere, holding on to the edge of the railing with one hand, smiles, "Oh, excellent. -- Perhaps you're getting old, W'yn?" Teasingly said, before she adds, "Been...? It was nice, that, but what do you mean?"

Zymanth recovers with a gracious landing and the fact that he has a really rather plump and suculant beast to feast on. Looking over to Llysereth he croons thankfully to her and graciously bows his head before taking hold of the beasts neck and biting down. Eyes closing slightly as he begins to slowly devour the beast. Wings open in an arc about himself as if to keep balance but also in a subconsious show. W'yn smiles warmly and looks over to Llysereth while speaking to Lydiere. "Thank her for me will you. He will appreciate it! And your right." W'yn turns to Lydiere. "Its the endrearing querks that make him who he is and I would not have him any other way..ok so maybe blue..teasing!" he adds as Zymanths head snaps up for a moment. Laughing he grins. "I still have a quiet smile you know when I think Bronze.." he admits before continuing with the other question Lydiere spoke. "Oh! Its all changed since I last spoke to you!" he frowns for a moment then and considers this. "I spoke to J'ey this morning, poor guy didnt know about anything so he is in a panic. Oh!" W'yn slaps his forehead and frowns. "I said I would find out what was happening for him and forgot. Remind me!! Ill get Zymanth to call Tiregeth.." W'yn suddenly stops and looks at Lydiere. "Sorry Im rambling. You can tell today has been a day of working eh?!"

Lydiere opens her mouth to say something in response to W'yn's first comments, and then shuts it with a quizzical snap, her head tilted to the side in eyebrow-lifted concern. "Say what? What is it that you're babbling about?" Her legs stop swinging, her gaze focusing upon W'yn rather than Llysereth - although the queen is still quite active, between eating and crooning brightly at Zymanth.

Zymanth continues to eat and looks over to Llysereth from time to time to croon something like encouragment, queries, pride and apologies for the sounds effects his is making while not concerntrating on his riders rambling. "Sorry?! Oh! Well you know..no you dont, nobody seems to but they were supposed to.." W'yn runs his hands through his hair. "Well, you know Ly'ette is pregnant right?" he pauses there to allow himself a broad smile. "I didnt till the other day. Well.. she... she handed in her knot.." he says this quietly as he knows this will rather effect Llysereth who is egg heavy. "J'ey had no idea and I dont think Br'ina does either.." he offers winceing slightly at this. "I have said I would help, I mean I was an Assistant WeyrlingMaster with Ly'ette for a short while and she will still be there to ask questions but.." he shrugs.

"/What/?" Evidently, Lydiere is yet another person to whom this particular message did not get passed on to, and she greets the news with more than a little shock or surprise. "I didn't know that - any of it. And-- well, I just don't... I know it's not easy being pregnant, and I'm certainly one to talk, but she's so good at what she does, and it isn't as if she wouldn't be able to..." Lydiere runs out of words, lamely, head bobbing up and down rather stupidly. "Oh. Congratulations, too. On being a father-to-be." Yes. That. Watch Lydiere blink several times, fast. Llysereth, thankfully, is well distracted; too busy eating for tw-- well, ten or twelve.

W'yn waves his hand in a rather non-plus way as if being a father-to-be has not really sunk in yet or that the idea has come covered in so many other things that the joy is not quite there. "I have spoken to R'yn and he knows that another Weyrlingmaster is needed but.." he shrugs knowing how scairs the skills of a WeyrlingMaster is. "I know there are a few of the older riders who might be interested, but they just dont have the stamena!" Shaking his head he smiles. "I dont know. I know what that knot meant to her, there is something else.. I mean maybe she is having problems. Maybe she does not want to pregnant? maybe she thinks she could not cope..which she could..I just dont know! Deep down I know I wanted a family with Ly'ette.. but what if she is doing this for me and not for her..ahh.. lots of what ifs?!" Zymanth does stop his eating as his rider starts waving his arms around but stops as W'yn breaths out. Looking up to Lydieres face then he smiles. "Thankyou. Perhpas you could speak to her?"

Lydiere's expression turns truly troubled, and she twines her feet around the edge of the fence, as if the motion will help support her. "I-- yes. I'm sure someone will come up, as a good replacement." She's silent, however, brooding over this as her hands clasp tighter still to the fence beside her. "You're... worried that there's something more to this? Have you tried to talk to her, and understand how she feels, why she's done this? She's got /options/ if she doesn't want a child - that's the number one thing to remember. Don't blame yourself." Going silent, it takes her some time to come up with a final response, but she nods, "I will try, yes. I don't know if I'm any good - but I think it's important, for you, and for her. Oh, W'yn, I'm sorry."

W'yn looks releaved and bows his head for a moment before looking up and smiling. "I'm just worried that she feels pressured into this. Know what I mean? I know she wanted a child someday but I get the feeling that she was really more of a career minded rider. Know what I mean? Tilting his head to one side he smiles. "you no good? You have more experience and understanding of what she is going though that a mear male.." he smiles at this use of phrase before he chuckles in a rather ironic way. "Oh, you should have seen J'eys face!"

Lydiere has not, yet, managed to come up with the ability to smile, and nods her head slowly. "I can see that," she agrees, her head tilted to the side. "But it's not impossible to do both; it's what I did, when I had Keid, and what I'll be doing this time, too, not that I have a choice. You're right, though, in that she does always seem to be far more career-minded. Which is why this all comes as a shock, I suppose." She releases her hand, drawing it towards her lap where the other rests, and shakes her head: "But you're the one she loves. And I don't always have the words for what I'm trying to see." Finally, a twitch of her lips, as she allows, quietly, "I can but imagine. Poor J'ey!"

W'yn turns away to watch Zymanth devour the last of the beast he had picked up. "One more.." he says softly though the conversation is obviously more internal. As Zymanth wobbly picks off his third and final beast so W'yn watches this for a moment. His eyes seeming fixed upon the ripping action of the maw on flesh. Suddenly he remembers and turns back to Lydiere with a little apologetic smile. "It is rather confusing don't you think? She does seem happy by it though, well she does with me.." he shurgs again. "I have been busy thought, and in away I thank R'yn for that. It seems so seperate. I so wanted a family with Ly'ette but I dont think I have come to terms with it yet. Know what I mean?" he asks hopefully before he catches the twitch and smile. "He is worried. Br'ina and He are both new to the job. Not yet experinencing a group from beginning to end. They are good riders though, they just need a leader..she was so good.." W'yn seems to drift into looking at Zymanth again.

Lydiere patently avoids watching Zymanth work on that beast, and even Llysereth, who has already scooped herself up a second - she's not so hungry, oddly enough, earns no more than a second glance. "It is," agrees Lydiere, without hesitation, while she watches her toes. "I'm sure she's probably just confused-- it's hard, when you're pregnant. There's so many emotions, and you don't know how to deal with them." She nods her head slowly, giving a short smile as she reaches one hand down to pat W'yn upon the shoulder. "I know. Talk to G'wain, perhaps. You're going through this together, after all." She laughs, and her head is nodded slowly: "They are good riders, and I'm sure they'll both do well-- as long as we can get someone more experienced as Weyrlingmaster. Lys /will/ be missed."

W'yn raises his hand to pat the one on his shoulder before lowering them back into his lap. Looking up once again to Lydiere, sat upon the fence, he smiles. "I think I will. Maybe he could advise me on a few things eh?" he chuckles lightly and nods before shaking himself and smiling. "You know, you have been a great help today Lydiere. thanks! I think I needed to get it out of my system. I really did!" he smiles then adding. "Now your turn eh?" he offers cocking his head to one side. Zymanth makes a few more slurps before seeming to expand and deflate..too much gass! W'yn chuckles at the 'oops' he gets in his mind before explaning this.

Lydiere returns that smile with one of her own, a soft, almost mournful note resting upon her lips. "I'm sure he'd have something to say - and maybe, together, you could manage to work out what you're doing." There's a note of irony to that, brushed away much like the hand she pulls back of her own accord. "I'm glad I could do something," she concludes, after a pause, "though I can't admit that I did much." A wry smile, "We seem to take turns at that, huh? But it's about time I had a turn-- you do too much for me." She tilts her head to the side, catching Zymanth's movements, stiffling a smile.

W'yn smiles and chuckles. "Lydiere, its a service I give with pleasure. Not because I revel in upset, but because nore more than ever I know how it can help to air worries and have someone elses view on things. It is surprising how things can turn so internal that it can be a problem and knaw away at you." he smiles then adding. "We do seem to take it in turns! You were there last time I had a fall out with Ly'ette, oh! and the time when my father sent a message about me to R@yn but it got delivered to me instead.. gosh that seems funny now!" he admits with a chuckle, though if you had really seen him then you would know how it had eatern him.

"And one I given in return with pleasure, if only because I hate to see anyone hurt." Lydiere brightens her smile - or, rather, broadens it, for there is nothing ultimately cheerful about her expression. "It /is/ helpful, always." Her head is tilted to the side, and that short nod, remembering: "Yes, I remember those times. I guess that's what friends are for, corny though it sounds. We're here to be there for each other, when there's the need for it." Her head shakes; "Still doesn't seem funny to me, that time."

W'yn smiles lightly, though it is not his normal light smile, a little something is missing. "Maybe i am getting old Lyd. You said it earlier..maybe I appreciate wieghts of responsibility more eh?" chuckling once he then frowns. "Lyd. Did you mean more when you said G'wain and I could sort out what to do?" a suddenly curious worrie flicks into his mind at these words. He has not spoken to G'wain and though he is being protective, is the young bronze leader ok?! He tilts his own head in subconsious echo before snapping his head over to look to Zymanth. "Enough you! Don't forget we have to go to Fort tonight, timezones Zymanth!" he adds before turning back to Lydiere. "He could eat for Pern!"

Lydiere laughs, although, again, it's obvious that her heart isn't in the mirth-- she's far too rueful for that. "If not old, then certainly mature. It's another part of the whole fatherhood thing, I think." Her eyebrows lift, a pause following, before, slowly, she shakes her head. "No, not at all. I just meant-- well, he's gone over-protective on the whole issue, and sometimes I wonder if he needs to learn how to relax about it." Grimacing, but only lightly, she shrugs her shoulders-- and then laughs as W'yn admonishes his lifemate. "So could Llysereth, when she's of the mood. Today, she was just interested in making a mess, though, I think. She's going to need a good scrub."

W'yn laughs suddenly, as if a reliefe from all what he had been talking about. "Now there is one thing I really can direct G'wain in! the ability to relax! Where is he anyhow..not still avoiding me is he?" he offers suddenly with a chuckle before it slowly fades and he is back to the rather solomn W'yn that was sat here before. Nodding then he looks up. "You haveing any more luck eating and keeping it down?" the sad truth is that he does not know if Ly'ette is suffering from the same things, he has been keeping busy..by R'yn or himself?!

"Do your best at that one," directs Lydiere, in response to the relaxation issue. "He can use all the help he can get; I'm just not enough of a distraction." She gives a dramatic sniff, mostly teasing. "Oh, he's working with the wing again, I think. He's not avoiding you, at least, not so far as I know... Do you think he is?" The issue evidently concerns Lydiere, who sits up straighter, twining legs together. "I hope not." She gives a shake of her head, adding, "It's not so bad, now. I'm managing, on the whole... I should let Ly'ette in on some of the remedies I've discovered. She might need them. Then again, she might get lucky, too."

W'yn wiggles his lips and frowns showing thought before he shrugs. "No, I dont think he is really. I mean before, when I needed to speak to him he was even ignoring his dragon..." W'yn pauses to shake his head at this before he continues. "But maybe he is just busy again..I mean he is probably slipping back into his old routine, easily done, but this time well catch him before he does.." he smiles lightly then adding. "You are more than enough for a distraction, but if you are busy yourslef.." he tries to put a positive slant on things before continuing. "I mean if he is listening to Ahreluth more then, well maybe he also knew Zymanth was there?" this thought has only just slipped in as his eyes slip to the dragon bulging with food.

Lydiere's legs, slowly, begin to swing again, and she nods, whilst feet hit the fencepost behind them. "I'm sure he's just busy - he better be. The trouble is that I do hidework all day, every day, and he's off doing his wing things, and so when he comes back, I'm ready for a break... and he has hidework to do. It's very difficult, sometimes, to handle a relationship that way." She pauses, a glance going to Llysereth, although the dragon, pale hide covered in blood and guts and gore, seems to have started to doze, her bulbous belly making her nearly roll, rather than lie. "I don't know. He didn't mention it."

W'yn nods slowly as he shows his total understanding. "I would get in from doing different things then would have to do paperwork, while I was out Ly'ette would do her paperwork but then she would have to go out to teach.." he chuckles rather ironically then adding. "When did I manage to get her pregnant!" He shakes his head then and nods. "Its strange, you get into a routine but just know that the other person is there for you and have to hang onto that, or Like I have done..found good company to spend the time with relaxing.." he chuckles at this adding and show of a bow before following Lydieres line of sight to Llysereth. "Time is going fast...we are going to have to be quick with that post apointing the barracks need work!"

"My thought, too," agrees Lydiere ruefully, "although I guess, when it comes down to it, a sex life is one thing I /don't/ seem to lack, no matter how busy we both are." She gives a short, sharp nod of an affirmative, agreeing quietly, "That's also true. One gets to value every moment they can spend with their loved one-- and seek out the company of friends, when they can't." She winks, but turns back to Llysereth, nodding. "We are. Well-- she's got another sevenday or so, maybe, and then several months after that, but as soon as possible, we'll need to have someone, yes."

W'yn chuckles and smiles. "All true all true!" he smiles then as he tries to do some maths. "You are four months?" he offers thinking before smiling. "Does this mean your both going to pop around the same time? talk about celebrations!" he offers then with a chuckle. Shaking his head then he streches and stands walking over to lean on the post next to Lydiere. "Did you ever imagine yourself in this situaltion Lyd?" ohh deep! :)

Lydiere gives a short nod of her head, "Four months, getting closer to five. Lys is that far along, too? I suppose I figured that since I hadn't known until now... They /will/ be special celebrations. Is she hoping for a boy or a girl, do you know? And what about /you/?" She folds her hands in her lap, sighing quietly as she shifts herself over to make space for W'yn, should he want it. "In what situation? All of this? No. Never."

Lydiere gives a short nod of her head, "Four months, getting closer to five. Lys is that far along, too? I suppose I figured that since I hadn't known until now... She folds her hands in her lap, sighing quietly as she shifts herself over to make space for W'yn, should he want it. "In what situation? All of this? No. Never."

W'yn chuckles and shakes his head. "I didnt mean you and Ly'ette to pop at the same time. I meant you and Llysereth.." he indicates the rolling gold with a slight nod of his head. Chuckling at the mixup for a moment he blinks. "Me? oh..I dont know..a boy maybe?" he offers with a rather shocked look on his face. He had not thought about it. Shaking his head then he adds. "And you know I have been looking more into your names, you and G'wain, that ours.." he blushes slightly at this point.

Lydiere's expression takes upon a faint blush: "Oh. That /does/ make far more sense," she agrees, "And... well, it'll be fairly close, I suppose. The clutch'll hatch before I'll give birth, if my calculations are correct, but I'll still be pretty darn pregnant before I get off the sands." She strains forward, lips twitching with soft mirth-- "A boy would be nice. Boys are wonderful. I'd almost admit that I'd rather a boy than a girl, myself." Stretching her shoulders, she lets her feet rest still again: "Silly! Start thinking about your own child, rather than our sproglet. I bet you'll come up with something good - Lysin, Linette... hrm."

W'yn chuckles and smiles. "Lys only just found out. /That/ was what I was confused..well still am confused about, it must be only just found out and suddenly bam no knot! Sorry.. Im back on that again, sorry..amazing how it sticks in your mind!" he chuckles then before nodding. "Ill keep that quiet, that you want a boy. I think I would like a boy. Lydiere, are you fostering?" something else he had thought about but well not asked Ly'ette about.

"I guess she just felt she couldn't cope, or something," says Lydiere, very quietly. "Faranth knows that I wished, for a little while, that I had that option." She parts her lips into the shortest of quiet smiles, her head nodding slowly: "Don't apologise-- it's a big thing. All of it. Talk about it as much as you want." Her smile broadens slightly, taking shape as a quiet, thankful expression: "Thank you. Actually, although I haven't talked about it to G'wain, it looks as though we'll do parent sharing with M'kan and J'ey. That is to say, they'll help out, like informal foster parents."

W'yn smiles broadly and nods his acceptance to all thanks and offer to keep talking. Grinning then he chuckles. "Now that is going to give the kid an interesting persective of life! G'wain and Lydiere and M'kan and J'ey as parents." he teases though as he knows both M'kan and J'ey as good friends and riders. Nodding then as Lydiere talks he smiles. "Im not sure what Ly'ette would like to do. Personally I would like to kid to know I was his father and look after him and such but I know my position means that fostering would be better..though suppose Ly'ette has more time now.." he adds with an ironic shrug before continuing. "I WILL NOT foster the child back to my parents, though Ly'ette might want to do that..gosh so many options! Even the foster sharing is a good idea.." he falls away realsing he is rambling and falls quiet.

Lydiere's lips twitch, "That was certainly my thought. An-- /interesting/ upbringing that would be, to say the least. But M'kan has kids that he's never even met, and he feels guilty... I think he'd do well. J'ey's slightly less enthusiastic, but I think he'll get used to the idea. G'wain... well, I need to check with him." She folds her hands into her lap, nodding: "I don't like the idea of fostering away, if it can be avoided. Hopefully, you'll manage to find some kind of solution, even if it's half-nanny care, or something." The vehemence draws a short nod, then a longer one. "I'm sure you'll figure something out, together."

W'yn suddenly sits up and smiles. "YOu know Ly'ette used to be a nanny.." his lips are pursed at that moment as he clamps down on all the immages of R'yn and Lysette that flood on that topic. Blinking once then he looks rather shocked. "M'kan has kids?" his voice slightly higher than normal as he speaks before he smiles and shakes his head. "I never knew. Im surprised that J'ey is less that enthusiastic. Who suggested the idea?" Thinking of J'ey and M'kan suddenly makes W'yn think and he frowns. "Have you seen much fo N'tan? I have not seen him about since his flight when he paired up with that bluerider from Igen, even though Zymanth wone.." a blush flicking across W'yns face as he adds in a little mumble. "Rather glad that turned out like that really.."

Lydiere nods. "I remember that. It came up in conversation, back when we were candidates. Egg-watching." She fails to catch the lip-pursing, turning her attention, instead, to answer questions. "Twins, apparently, at Eastern. I didn't know either, until recently. I think J'ey was more surprised than anything - he doesn't have anything to do with /his/ son. M'kan suggested it, to me, ages back." Tilting her head to the side, shading her face with her hand, she shakes her head. "No, not much. -- He did that? I didn't think many riders did. Well... I guess I can see it. But even so. Unnatural."

Lydiere nods. "I remember that. It came up in conversation, back when we were candidates. Egg-watching." She fails to catch the lip-pursing, turning her attention, instead, to answer questions. W'yn chuckles and nods. "Un-natural but saved me from a new experience. I just thank the dawn stars that Ly'ette was not with the Weyrlings.." as you can, im sure, imagine the state he was in. "I seem to have un-natural things happen where flighs are concerned..I mean mind linking?!" he smiles warmly at this before his face drops into shock once again. "J'ey has a son?" Suddenly though he shakes his head and nods. "No! I did know that!..I think.." he blushes then adding before gaining composure and smiling. "M'kan has never mentioned them to me, but then we dont talk as much as we used to, our lives are rather different I suppose?" he adds with a shrug. Shuffling slightly on the spot made free for him earlier he then smiles. "There was a rider from Eastern in the Weyr earlier..her firelizard hid her eggs here. A brown impressed to Jessamy.." a little gossip for him. Suddenly, thinking of gossip W'yn gets totally side tracked. "Lydi! Who is this Allan person that Natianl(sp?) is talking about. I heard her talking of a guy in rough clothing.." he pases then before adding. "I look forward to eggwatching again you know!"

"Lucky, indeed," agrees Lydiere calmly, nodding her head. "-- Ah, but that just makes life interesting. Although I'll agree, the whole linking thing is just... weird. Still." She nods her head again, wrinkling her nose, "Lymera's youngest, Jelym. He's like a turn, two turns. Something like that. M'kan doesn't talk a lot to anyone; I just seem to get lucky. Or unlucky, depending. Who knows." Lydiere folds her hands back into her lap, lifting her head: "Allan? I don't know, never heard of him, I admit. There's plenty of people I don't know about the weyr, though." With a rueful grin, her shoulders relaxing, "At least you don't have to do it twenty-four seven!"

W'yn laughs and nods. "true! but you wont..make G'wain take his turn!" W'yn says this louder as though someone could hear him say it. Grinning then he smiles. "I think lucky. M'kan might not talk but I get the feeling he is a rather deep person, someone who is interesting underneath. I could be wrong though and really, he is just boaring and has nothing to say..sorry M'kan, im teasing.." he offers then with a chuckle before thinking back and nodding. "Weird but curious. I mean look at him.." Zymanth had been dozing for a long while but his tail has still wound its way to be kind of close to Llysereth. "He does not show off like alot of the bronzes do. Noticed that?" he adds then realising that she probaly gets it all the time.

Lydiere's nod is enthusiastic: "I'm going to have to be careful, what with the baby. As long as things go well, I'll probably be on the sands far less often than usual." Again, she nods: "Lucky, yes. He's-- well, he's yet another good friend of mine, but it's hard, sometimes, because he's so quiet. So content to let go of conversations, and worried about saying something silly." Lydiere's expression is wry: "That makes it hard, sometimes." Her eyes fall towards Zymanth, and towards Llysereth, whose doze has long been in place-- her own tail, silently, as flicked its way towards Zymanth. "I have, yes. He's-- well, he's quite his own person."

W'yn chuckles lightly as he adds. "Maybe just maybe I talk too much for M'kan so he stays quiet!" he offers with his own quirky smile. If he were to think about how close the dragons sat he might also think of how he had worked, without thinking about it, to be sat close to Lydiere, but he does not he continues nattering on. "His own person as arn't we all eh?" he offers with a chuckle. "Tell you whom I have not spoken with in a long time is Darianya! She has stopped visiting like she used to. I know she moved to Fort and now has a child with T'ren but she used to visit often before hand.." he shrugs before chuckling adding. "but when was the last time We visited anywhere..oh no! Igen we had that wonderful picknick in Igen!"

"Maybe," agrees Lydiere, with a mock-seriousness that does not last for all that long. "Oh, of course we are. It's one thing I hate - people who seem to believe that our dragons are just an extention of ourselves. I love Llysereth - how could I not! - but she's just about as far from me in who she is as it's possible to be. My mother doesn't approve of that, somehow." She tilts her head to the side, eyebrows lifting. "Darianya? I admit, I never knew her all that well; only met her once or twice. It's got to be hard work, being Senior Weyrwoman when you're a mother, though." A broader smile falls into place, as Lydiere positively beams. "Ah, yes, that trip to Igen. We should repeat that, some time."

W'yn waggles his finger slightly once with a chuckle. "You never know, you might be there one day!" He chuckles broadly adding. "Imagine, if Lymera wants to step down, perhaps Her and R'yn taking to retering.." he chuckles before gasping and looking mock-shocked "G'wain would be my boss!!" he chuckles then adding. "He would have to take sleeping pills then to relax! they way he is with the wing, boy the weyr would run like clockwork.." he smiles broadly then before shrugging adding. "but Lymera and R'yn are still in their prime so..you mother does not approve?" the question suddenly bursts out before he nods with enthusiasum. "We must! I mean Zymanth loved it and so did I! for different reasons.. He enjoyed the sun sand and company as I did but I also loved the fact that there was no way I could be called into my Weyr by my guilt. I was there for company and relaxation..know what I mean?"

Lydiere's nose is the first thing to indicate her reaction, and it's the most automatic thing in the world. In addition to the nose-wrinkle, she shudders. "Faranth hopes not. Lymera may not be the perfect Weyrwoman, but I'd far rather it be her than me. She and R'yn can stay as long as they care. Besides," she shifts her position, legs swinging thoughtfully, "Who says that it'd automatically be G'wain who became Weyrleader? Not that I'd /mind/, of course, though you're right; it'd probably spell doom for any chance at relaxing, ever." Her smile is wry as she nods, explaining, "Mum agrees with her lifemate on /everything/, and can't see how Llysereth and I can be so different. She just doesn't get it. I know what you mean," she adds, very quiet. "It's a nice feeling, to be able to get away from everything."

W'yn cocks his head to one side as he thinks. "You know I've never had a reference to go against. Zymanth and I normally work out an answer that suits both. Ayath and Ly'ette have some wonderful rows but I guess Zymanth is placid where it comes to desisions. He would rather leave it to me..that is except when he is adimant he knows what he wants.." he nods then with a chuckle before going slightly solomn and nodding. "That is true. Weyrleader flights often bring many bronzes from all over so it might not even be an Istan bronze. Though you could specify only Istans I suppose.." he adds with a frown before adding. "The riders choice helps though so.." he would not like to think of the situation for poor Lydiere if someone else won..poor G'wain! He shakes his head suddenly before continuing. "I cant see her stepping back too soon so dont panic." he chuckles before nodding. "Llysereth really does know what she likes and doesn't though doent she? and we should get away again ok? deal?"

"They - and we - are all different, I guess. Each pair has a different dynamic. Llysereth's always after a solution that suits feelings; she hates to see people hurt. But me, I have to be practical, to counter her altruisticness." Lydiere explains this thoughtfully, as though she's trying to justify herself, to herself. "Indeed. This hypothetical leadership flight could have any kind of result-- and I wouldn't wager on it, myself. Llysereth's too... her own self, during flights, to let my emotions rule her." Poor G'wain, poor Lydiere. But altogether possible, nonetheless. "Oh, I won't lose sleep over it, that's for sure. No use worrying about it until it happens, if it does." A long glance is made towards Llysereth, and the junior weyrwoman smiles, "She does. She's very particular - and she feels too much. We should," she concludes. "Absolutely."

W'yn thinks for a long while and then chuckles. "You know, it is a long way off so no use thinking about it..but then Hypothersising is good in a way! Gives the brain a break from the norm.." thats one way of thinking of it!! Wiggling slightly because one of his legs had gone numb he looks about. "Lydiere, fancy getting something to eat?" he offers suddenly as he looks about to see just how long they had been sat here. "Ive nothing on this afternoon if you fancy a leasurely meal or something?" its just an idea but he offers it lightly. "Ill get zymanth, when the lump awakes to ask Ayath if she wants to join us. What about G'wain? I dont remember seeing his wings doing sweeps..oh hold on.." W'yn pauses for a moment and fronws. "They were heading to a hold went they today? a small cot hold that needed one side roof removing, they were going to offer their services.." he adds as he squints in thought. "I dont know, you would think Id know that sharding list of rosters inside out!"

"What, so that I can shiver in fear at the very thought?" Shaking her head, Lydiere rolls her eyes. "I'd rather not, to be honest. It's bad enough knowing that it's always a possibility, without having to actually think about it. I mean... /me/, in charge. Hah." She considers, her head tilting to the side, a yawn stiffled with one hand-- the sun is making her sleepy. "A meal would be nice, as long as it's something light. I believe that's right, though, with G'wain. Off doing one thing or another; I just know they weren't going to be around, for most of the day."

W'yn laughs. "Well, you have already told me off for calling you Weyrwoman once so it cant get that much worse!" he offers with a chuckle before he wiggles to get off the fence. Once he is down he offers his hand to help Lydiere down if needed. Cocking his head to one side he adds. "Jessamy gave me some wonderfully tasty Wherry with this new sauce on it.." he adds before wincing. "But after watching them eat.." ha! wherry-boy eating something else..never! Looking to the dragons he chuckles. "Zymanth is going to be there for a while. Oh well, a while before I have to leave for Fort anyhow..oh! I might see Darianya after all.." proably not but there we are, nothing to worrie about really. "Yes, Im sure it was something that needed dragon aid..though I still say a whole wing is excessive..but then there are new Weyrlings in there so give them some experinece.." he chuckles then adding. "I'll give it to G'wain! he runs a tight ship!"
