You walk toward the bustling Weyrhall.

Kayjay sips her juice. "Much better, doesn't taste like meatrolls." She goes back to her seat, nodding to Auralia as she walks in. "Evening"

Auralia weaves her way past various tables, stopping to chat cheerily to those she knows, and then raises a hand to the room at large. Kayjay's greeting is returned, with a grin, "Same to you," as the greenrider pours water, and heads for a table, hopping to sit on top of it.

Leonette sighs and shakes her head slowly, then waves silently to Auralia, before going back to that wonderful, oh-so-fun sport of trying to see through the wine glass...

Stella nods to Leonette, and moves slowly back to her seat, lost in thought. An absent wave is given to the others that have entered.

Kayjay yawns slightly as she sits back into her seat. "Oh, by the way, Leonette, did you find T'rrin?"

Auralia wiggles her legs, glancing around the table she's so promptly sat on. "Why're you drinking, Leo? That's not much fun. Drinking's bad for you." She watches Stella go, and shrugs, leaning back more comfortably.

Leonette nods and continues to look into her wine, "Yeah. I did, and I talked to him." she looks over at Auralia, blinks, "I'm not drinking much..." she says. The wine glass's half full, and she's had it quite awhile...

Kayjay looks into her juice mug. "Juice is a lot better than wine to quench your thirst. Stay away from the tea though, it tastes like meatrolls. "

Auralia's curious, nevermind what she was talking about earlier, since it's waved off with a short, "Oh. That's okay." She wiggles over slightly, "Why'd you have to talk to T'rrin? What about?"

Kayjay looks intently at Leonette, awaiting her answer.

Leonette blinks at Auralia, then at Kayjay, and decides to answer Kayjay first. "Of course it did. Half your meatroll was dissolved into it." then she turns to Auralia, "About...his reputation..." she says slowly.

K'laarn walks over from the Western Courtyard.

Auralia screws up her face, "You dipped your meatroll in your klah?" Kayjay is regarded with an expression of horror. "That's sick. Ugh." She rests her hands on the table, propping herself up, and ohs, "I see. His reputation. Ah."

K'tor walks over from the Western Courtyard.

Kayjay blinks. "What? The juice?" She holds up the mug. "It looks quite normal to me. Nothing in it at all." She shakes her head. "Never..I hate klah."

K'laarn seems to be in deep conversation with K'tor, though his voice rises slightly, his face furrowed and words carry across the hall. "I just don't know what to do about it, K'tor. We'll need to approach Auralia gracefully about this issue." His voice has an almost ominous ring to its tones.

Leonette nods, "Yeah. His reputation..." she looks over at Kayjay, then says, "No, silly, your tea." then she turns back to Auralia, "More specifically, the fact that it seems everyone in the weyr has the wrong idea about him and me." She turns to look at K'laarn, carefully, then back at Auralia.

Auralia was getting all mixed up. "Tea. That's even worse. That's....eew." She leans down to rub at one foot, stopping half way. Her name. Was that her name? Eek.

K'tor looks as though he hasn't gotten much sleep in the last few days. He rubs his eyes. "Like she has a choice? She follows orders pretty well." He pauses and then blinks around the hall, abruptly aware of the lowering in volume. He offers to K'laarn, "No sense in prolonging the unpleasantness...." And he nods towards the greenrider in question.

K'laarn turns his head and spying Auralia, does his best to put on his most gracious expression. "Ah yes," His voice lowers, "You're right of course, K'tor. Might as well get it over with now." His lips twitch however into the shadow of a worried grimace.

Auralia is still leaning off the edge of the table. It's an...odd picture. And she's listening to every word, if the tenseness of her body is anything to go by. She peers about, eyeing the door. So close...so far. "What did I do?" she mutters, to herself.

Kayjay peers as K'tor and K'laarn walk into the room. She shakes her head at Auralia, raking her head trying to think of something that she could have done.

Leonette decides that it's a /really/ good time to stay silent and practice her listening skills...

K'tor nods to K'laarn, and folds his arms. "Right. You first then." that's why he's weyrsecond. He doesn't *have* to face the riders directly. He takes up a position flanking K'laarn's left shoulder, his expression tired, though not giving a clue to his emotions.

K'laarn, his head nodding, raises his voice and he's looking straight at Auralia now. Clearing his throat first, he begins, "Auralia," His voice is its most dour and stern, "We'd like a word with you. If you would," He beckons. "Just right over here. It won't take long, we just have some questions to ask of you."

Kayjay cringes and mutters."It had to be the plums. They found out about the contraband plums."

<Southern Weyr> K'laarn nearly chokes on a malted milk ball. Priceless Kayjay.

K'tor snaps a look to Kayjay, eyebrows arching. He mutters something about adding that to the list.

<Southern Weyr> Kayjay giggles I thought it was good myself :)
<Southern Weyr> Leonette giggles. Contraband plums?

Auralia sits up, rapidly, almost slipping off the table. Her head turns, and she nods, very slowly. "Just...it wasn't me It was D'thyn. Honest." A glance is sent towards Kayjay, withering in it's prime, but the greenrider turns back, slides up, and nods sagely, moving towards the Weyrleader and Wersecond.

<Southern Weyr> Auralia says, "Don't ask ;)"

Kayjay squirms in her seat, you think she was distracted before, she is on mega alert now.

K'tor frowns at Aura, a dark grimace from over K'laarn's shoulder. Absently, without even looking at her, he offers, "Sit still, Kayjay. We'll want a word with you about those plums."

Kayjay blinks and just nods, wide-eyed. She don't know nothing about plums.

<Southern Weyr> F'loran wanna see!
<Southern Weyr> Kayjay says, "Well then come on over :0"

K'laarn's eyebrow raises, intrigued, "D'thyn did it?" Then he shakes his head, "Never mind that. We'll discuss later, whatever it is you 'didn't' do. What I want to discuss with you right now is something totally different." He begins, "We're making a new wing and shifting some things around to help improve our riding in Fall. They're just some things K'tor and I have worked out and are now implementing." He pauses significantly, "However, K'tor and I have a bit of a quandry, and it has to deal with -you-."

Auralia's eyes dart between K'tor and K'laarn, and she swallows, waiting for her fate. "Er, me? Why? Aren't I already stuck with Starflame?" There isn't any reason for her to be demoted...is there?

K'tor queries mildly, "Stuck? What an interesting word. I'm sure Kinoa'd like to hear it in connection with her wing." Her wing. Not Auralia's.

K'laarn nods and says with dread tones, "Perhaps its best we're removing you from Kinoa's wing." he glances at K'tor and then shakes his head, gazing at Auralia regretfully.

Auralia sticks her hands into her pockets, as if attempting to look...calm. "That isn't what I meant--" Whatever it was that she did mean is lost into the mists of time, or something similar, when her ears pick up K'laarn's words. "You are? Why? I'm not going back to the weyrling wing, am I?" The shame!

Leonette blinks from K'laarn to K'tor to Auralia then back again.

K'tor shakes his head at Auralia. "No. It's far worse than that." His expression is utterly serious.

Auralia gulps, her eyes wide. "You're making me transfer?" The look on her face is one of utter disbelief.

Kayjay cringes for poor Auralia. She mutters to herself. "Watchrider...Far Cry.. bet you."

<Southern Weyr> Auralia sniffles. It was nice knowing you all ;)
<Southern Weyr> Kayjay sniffs. "All because of an orange plum. "
<Southern Weyr> Leonette says, "Orange plum...?"
<Southern Weyr> Telinda hrms. K'tor, I want me some of those plums!
<Southern Weyr> Kayjay says, "Long story :)"
<Southern Weyr> Auralia says, "Ask D'thyn! He has all the supplies ;)"
<Southern Weyr> Leonette says, "never mind...I prolly don't wanna know.. ;)"
<Southern Weyr> K'tor says, "Yes, Telinda."
<Southern Weyr> Kinoa cracks the whip.
<Southern Weyr> Kinoa says, "Whhhhhp-chhh!"

K'laarn looks at Auralia for a blank moment before saying, "What, by the tail of Faranth, are you talking about Auralia?" His lips gape for a moment then snap closed and his brow furrows, "Why would I transfer you? You'll probably 'wish' you were, after what I'm about to say but..." Then he chuckles, "By no means. No, I was just going to say that with the wing reorganizations we're doing, I'm placing K'tor and myself into a new wing. Because we're reorganizing everything differently, and some of the extra work that we'll be taking on for training and Fall, we require a second wingsecond, K'tor and I, to help us in our wing. I want you for my Weyrsecond." He says, "My second to assit me in running the new wing, and leading the Weyr."

K'laarn adds, "With K'tor of course." He gestures to the current and still active Weyrsecond. "I shaln't b e getting rid of him."

Leonette grins at Auralia. So she wasn't in trouble after all!

K'tor offers, "I'd've transferred before I'd accepted if he'd have let me." Though at least this time his tone is tinged with a bit of humor.

Kayjay sits up in her chair, looking utterly puzzled. She looks at her juice mug, then at Auralia, letting it all process through. Once it registers, she beams for her friend.

<Southern Weyr> Kayjay says, "Woohooo Auralia!!"

Auralia was ready for demotion, ready for being transfered, but this? Oh nonono. She just blinks, eyes grazing the ceilings for a moment. "So you're promoting me?" Said slowly, very, very slowly. "That's good to hear, K'tor. Or maybe not." Her eyes focus, and she simply nods, "Okay. If you're sure you're not cracked or something."

Ricielle comes in and waves to her friends and settles down at a table.

K'laarn says very seriously, "Yes, I'm promoting you."

Auralia somehow manages to smile, although Faranth knows how. "Oh. Well, good. I think."

K'tor nods to Auralia. "We'll want to start getting together and get you up to speed quickly. Meeting. Tomorrow morning. After dawn sweeps with Albanth and I."

Auralia's newfound grin fades, and she pales slightly. "Oh. Oh yeah. Okay."

Kayjay chuckles."Congratulations Weyrsecond." She stands, smiling sincerely, and then wipes the grin off her face to snap a sharp salute in Auralia's direction.

K'laarn nods and says, "It'll be a lot of work. We've much to do, and never enough hours in the day to do them in." Suddenly he frowns, and glances meaningfully at K'tor, "Speaking of wings.. that reminds me." Then he gives a slight tilt of the head, seeming to indicate something to the 'second -- K'tor that is.

Auralia eeks. She just managed to see Kayjay's movement out of the corner of her eye, and cowers. "Stop, Kayjay! You'll kill me." It only takes a second, however, for her to regain her stance, and nods, sagely. Work she can understand. Well, sort of.

Ricielle listens to the grown ups as she starts on a new drawing... It might be another dragon, or it might be a 'lizard, its hard to tell.

Leonette grins, "Congratulations..." she says, then after a pause adds, "And I'm glad you didn't get in trouble for the plums..." Though by the look on her face, she has no idea what Kayjay was talking about.

K'tor nods. "Right. With the creation of the new wing, and the moving of K'laarn and I - and now Auralia - over to it, that leaves the problem of Firedance." That said, he flips a pile of cords at Kayjay.

Kayjay grins. "I just had to do it, Auralia. I am so happy for you and for the weyr."

K'laarn quietly takes the opportunity of distraction to pass to Auralia in a reverent manner, her new badge and braided cords that symbolize her position.

Kayjay blinks, looking at the jumble of cords in front of her, then looks back up at K'tor. "Is there something you need help with?

K'tor nods and barks, "Untangle that knot, Kayjay."

"Just don't do it ag--" Auralia stops, and glances between K'tor and Kayjay. "Is that what I think it is? Ohboy. Should I be saluting Kayjay now?" She just about misses K'laarn's presentation of her own badge and cords, luckily catching the movement just in time, and accepting them in the appropriate manner. Well, in a way, anyway. "Thanks."

Kayjay shakes the knot out carefully and stares at it, looking up at K'tor. "It is Fireflame Wingleaders knot. Doesn't this belong to K'laarn." She thinks a moment, "Or did?"

K'laarn chuckles and nods, "Don't thank me. Its hard work I'm handing to you, Weyrsecond."

Auralia cringes, glancing up at K'laarn with a teasing grin, "Did you have to remind me? Honestly?"

K'laarn grins and winks at Auralia, "Well, I never said I was nice."

K'tor offers his own Firedance wing patch over to Kayjay. "Will you accept the leadership of Firedance, Kayjay? It needs a leader, with K'laarn starting the new wing."

Auralia snorts, "You never needed to. I knew already that it wasn't true." But she's grinning, and even moreso, as she watches Kayjay. "Go Kayjay! That's wonderful."

Leonette grins at Kayjay and says an almost-silent "Congratulations"

Kayjay looks utterly and completely stunned as she stands there with the knot in one hand and the patch in the other. Her jaw flaps in the breeze for a moment before she shuts it and squeaks. "Me, Sir?" She looks down at the objects again. She clears her throat and tries again. "I would be honored if you feel that I am capable of serving the Weyr in this position."

<Southern Weyr> Telinda says, "Yay! Go Auri, Go Kj! :)"
<Southern Weyr> Auralia smooches Kayjay. Woo. And grins. Whee ;)
<Southern Weyr> Marila blinkes
<Southern Weyr> F'loran cheers for both! :)

K'tor nods solumnly. "We both do. And we'll both help you get settled in as wingleader, adjusted to the new drilling schedule and the like.

<Southern Weyr> Leonette cheers!

Kayjay lets out a huge sigh of relief. "I look forward to that. I have been helping Cecily where I could, and have a general idea.. but I know I am confident in your leadership, both ..all of you." She includes Auralia in that gaze.

Auralia graps her knot in her hand without looking at it, and stands just a wee bit taller, shoving her hand promptly into her pocket. "No you're not, Kayjay. You don't know my leadership." And the look on her face indicates that maybe Auralia's not quite sure herself.

K'laarn nods, "We do." Echoing K'tor's comment with confidence.

Kayjay nods firmly, echoing K'laarn's words. "You will add a creative touch."

K'tor says firmly, "Kayjay, if K'laarn and I didn't think you could handle it, you wouldn't be." He nods to K'laarn and adds, "Would you like to set up a time with Kayjay, and maybe the four of us can get together? If necessary, I can give Kayjay a little one on one time with drills, while you and Aura start drilling with the new wing."

K'laarn nods and turns to K'tor, saying, "I think that would do very nicely K'tor." He puts on his thinking expression and says "Tomorrow afternoon is looking free for me." He comments casually, "I'm sure Kayjay will want to take the morning to get familiar with her wing and talk to some of the older riders in it."

Kayjay pales at that suggestion. "Shards, hope they don't mind a wingleader who is not even 18 turns."

Auralia steps back a little, rolling her eyes at Kayjay, but more in teasing than anything else. "Ooh, you're going to have problems, Kay. Remember that conversation with D'thyn? And we thought -Cecily- had it bad."

K'tor nods. "And that leaves the morning for sweeps and Aura and I to meet." He grins at his fellow Weyrsecond. "And on that note, I need to be getting to bed." Then he pauses and says, "Talk to me about that tomorrow, Kayjay. I was there about two turns ago." Then he gives Aura and Kayjay both a salute, K'laarn a respectful nod and a wink, before heading out.

Kayjay grimaces. "Yes, K'tor, I will." She grins at Auralia."I think I need a glass of wine after all."

K'tor absently makes a pass at touseling Ricielle's hair on the way, and offers, "Night, Leonette!"

K'tor strides over to the Courtyard.

K'laarn grins back and nods. "Sleep sounds good right now. After a bit to nudge me along to bed. A snack always helps me sleep."

Auralia raises a hand belatedly after K'tor, and turns back to Kayjay, smirking, "Oh, I'm sure of it. I'd almost--but no."

Kayjay heads to the meal table after carefully smoothing the new knot and badge and placing them in her rucksack for sewing on later. "May I get anyone anything while I am up?"

Leonette belatedly waves after K'tor, then says, "Oops...missed him..."

Auralia slowly returns to her seat, shaking her head towards Kayjay, and resting against the table. "Sleep does sound good. But I doubt I'll be getting any any time soon."

Leonette hmms and looks at her wineglass and breadroll. "Nope..." she answers softly. Wine glass is still half-full...or half-empty...and she hasn't even started the breadroll.

Kayjay nods. "I..I don't think I will sleep much tonight either." She blinks. "Firedance... such a wonderful wing." She chuckles. "Most of the riders I know in that..my wing are good solid riders."

"You get Shasta," Auralia points out, "My old mentor. Awww." She goes silent a moment, and then blinks, "Shards, I wonder if Kinoa knows? She needs a new wingsecond, I guess."

Kayjay takes a deep breath. "Looks like my old mentor is my mentor once again, K'tor" She looks at Auralia rather blankly. "Shasta? Yes, she is a great team player."

Auralia groans, glancing around the room, eyes dancing, "She's already talking like a Wingleader!"

Kayjay blushes and looks down at her glass of wine. "I guess I am, aren't I?"

Leonette grins and nods, "Yeah." she chuckles then says, "Nothing wrong with it though. That's what she is!"

Auralia whimpers, "There is, Leo. There is a lot!" Her mouth pulls back into a grin, however, and she adds, "You are. But don't worry."

Kayjay smiles softly. "Wait until D'ryn hears this one. If he thinks I am work too hard now, just wait."

K'laarn smiles slyly at Auralia, "We've already conversed with her about it some few days back Auralia."

Auralia's brows raise towards K'laarn, but it's with a sigh that she assents, "You would have. So she can't be too mad at me, since she'd have killed me already. Good."

Leonette blinks, "Naw. Talking never hurt no one." she says.

Auralia slides into a seat, reflecting, "Probably, Kayjay. And hey, you might even get to tap him into your wing!" Well, it's -possible-, isn't it?

Kayjay blinks. 'Tap who into my wing? Oh D'ryn? I don't think it would work out too well, tapping your ..well what ever you want to call us, right now, into your own wing. Can you imagine the arguements at home?" She winces.

K'laarn considers Kayjay, "Well no. Because you were not her wingsecond, she'll be informed now, after the fact."

Kayjay nods, to K'laarn. "Yes, of course."

Temari walks over from the Western Courtyard.

Auralia shrugs, "Mmm. You might be right, I suppose. Oh well." She considers K'laarn's words, and nods, "Poor Kayjay. Or is it poor Cecily?"

Leonette just kinda continues to sit in the corner watching people talk with a small smile on her face. She takes a small sip of her wine, and nibbles at her breadroll.

D'ryn strides over from the Western Courtyard.

Temari walks into the weyrhall, looking half-asleep, and heading straight for the klah pot. She pours herself a mug, then turns to look around her.

Kayjay sits at a table, idly holding a wine glass in one hand. She has a slightly run over by a gold dragon and tromped into the ground but it is a good thing, sort of look on her face.

D'ryn isn't too far off of Temari's heels, looking three-quarters asleep. He doesn't bother with the klah, slumping into a chair at his favorite table. He looks just about ready to revisit his original Southern Weyr eccentricity of snoozing on the tables.

Auralia looks somewhat more comfortable than Kayjay, but then, she's known longer, hasn't she? She bobs her head shortly to both Temari and D'ryn, offering, "Good evening."

Kayjay looks up as Temari and D'ryn enter. She says vaguelly. "Oh hello dears." She takes a knot out of her rucksack and a badge as well, looking at them for a moment, smoothing them out again before she moves to put them back away.

Temari smiles, "Hi Auralia," then her gaze moves over towards the stunned-looking Kayjay, curiousity begins to replace sleepyness, and she wanders over, flopping down in a seat opposite her friend, "You doing ok, Kayjay?"

Leonette looks up, smiles and waves at Temari and D'ryn.

D'ryn hears a couple of familiar voices and incoherently mutters something that may be anything between a polite greeting and vulgar suggestion for N'all. His eyes are mostly closed, and he really looks as if perhaps he should have gone to bed. Two days ago.

Kayjay nods. She croaks, looking at Temari then over her head at D'ryn. "Seems that I have been kicked out of Moonsweep Wing."

Auralia eyes D'ryn, "I doubt much'll get through to him tonight, Kay." She bobs her head once more at Temari, and stretches out on her seat. "I'd wait. But I don't blame you."

Leonette looks over at D'ryn, starts to say something, then stops. Surely she didn't hear what she thinks she just heard? Naw, she just misunderstood...hopefully...

Temari blinks, staring at Kayjay, then at Auralia, then back at Kayjay again, "What? Why? What happened?"

"The plums," says Auralia, simply, "Blame them."

Kayjay winks at Auralia. Then deadpans to Temari. "Yes. I .. well I guess I have to remove this knot." She goes to take off the old knot. "Seems I well.. " She nods to Auralia. "The plums."

Something must have registered in D'ryn's foggy mind, for he echoes the words 'kicked out?!?' indignantly. Rising from somnolence, if not the chair, he demands, "Why on Pern for, and who should I be kicking for this?"

Auralia bursts into a fit of giggles, and manages to remember, watching Kayjay, to remove her own knot. It's given a long, measuring look, and she sighs, setting it on the table. Knotless. "We're both knotless, huh? It's sad."

Leonette snickers at J'ryn, Kayjay, and Auralia.

Temari looks totally confused, then as Auralia starts giggling suspicion starts creeping in, "What's happening here? You two aren't going to leave the weyr to set up a plum-growing farm-holding are you?"

Kayjay tries admirably to keep a straight face. She nods, looking down quickly, perhaps to dry a tear? She takes what looks like a new knot and ties it on her shoulder.

Auralia follows suit. She has to try and keep up acts. "Ierne, here we come, huh?"

Kayjay shakes her long hair so the knot is quickly hidden as it cascades over her shoulder once again. You would have to look quick to notice anything.

Temari had fortunately been staring at Kayjay, but she still blinks, then frowns slightly as the knot becomes covered, "Kayjay.. move your hair," is somewhere between a suggestion and an order.

Auralia doesn't have long hair, so it's a problem. She simply holds her hand over her knot. How corny can one get.

D'ryn frowns a bit, trying to make out the new knot. Finally, he rises to his feet and heads over to Kayjay. Taking a small liberty, he flicks aside just enough of her pretty hair to eyeball the new knot. "Jays," he murmurs, all sleep suddenly vanished from his visage.

Kayjay blushes and looks up at her ..well what ever you want to call him. D'ryn for now.. and Temari with an almost apologetic look. "Umm, K'laarn and K'tor seem to think it is a good idea that I move wings... and well, lead that wing."

Auralia giggles. She just can't help it. Her eyes rest on D'ryn a moment, peeking at Temari out of one of their corners. "Poor Kayjay."

Temari blinks again, then suddenly smiles widely, "Firedance wingleader!!? Oh, congratulation Kayjay! You'll be wonderful at it!" Another thought and she glances to Auralia, "And what are you, Auralia?"

Auralia isn't anything! Just...Auralia. She half-smiles, "Would you believe Weyrleader?" Or not.

Kayjay smiles as she looks over at Auralia. She shakes her head. "You haven't changed sex suddenly have you?"

Auralia ohyeahs. There is that one, small problem. "Er, no. And Iesath hasn't either. Which makes me, I suppose, Weyrsecond?" Just as unbelieveable, really.

D'ryn is, well, dumbstruck, as he stares at Kayjay's new knot. He does a great impression of a fish gasping for water.

Temari beams at Auralia and Kayjay, "Wingleader and Weyrsecond, oh that's wonderful. When did this happen?"

Kayjay is about to smile at Auralia in congratulations when she notes D'ryn's expression. "D'ryn? Are you alright with all this?"

Auralia hesitates, "Not long ago? Try, a few minutes before you came in?"

D'ryn furrows his brows a bit and finally gains his voice. "Doesn't matter what I think about it... are /you/ all right with it? I mean... it's one thing herding us... quite another herding riders..."

Temari grins cheerfully, "If she can herd us she can herd anything."

Auralia ponders, listening to D'ryn, "He's right, Kayjay. In a way. But I think you'll be fine. And me? I need to get some sleep. Or try to. Somehow. G'night!" She moves to her feet, waving cheerily.

Kayjay waves to Auralia. "Good night, weyrsecond, ma'am." She ducks in her seat, expecting something to be thrown.

Auralia would throw something, but the only loose thing she's got is her wing badge. And she's not about to throw that. "Good night, Wingleader, ma'am. Hmph."
