Log file from Auralia.
It is currently 10:59 a.m. on day 16 of month 8 in Turn 27 of the 10th Pass. The season is currently spring. (Remember we are in the southern hemisphere!)
Lakeside Meadow
Kinoa walks along, a half-eaten redfruit in her hand, her other hand in her pocket. "Auralia," she says with a smile. "How are you?"
Auralia blinks, and looks up from her thoughts, "Oh! I'm doing well thank you, Kinoa." She's sitting on the grass, legs crossed, by herself, "And yourself?"
Kinoa stops at a comfortable distance from the other woman, pausing to lick a dribble of juice off of her fingers. "Oh, I'm fine. Especially on a day like today." She looks up at the sky and then around the meadow and grins. "And Luiseth is asleep of course, which helps immensely. How's Iesath?"
Auralia laughs, and nods, "She's doing well, thank you. Asleep, too. She seems to think that if she sleeps during the day we can do everything at night." With a shrug, she adds, "Don't know how she gets that, but never mind." Shifting her her hands from where they support her on the grass, she adds, "It is a beautiful day, isn't it?"
Kinoa nods cheerfully. "Thankfully Lui only gets like that when she's proddy. Wanting to be out all night. And lucky too that she's proddy so rarely." Indeed, the wingleader is blessed. "And how are the two of you doing in terms of work?" She bites anew into the redfruit. "Got your drills down?"
Auralia grins, sticking her legs out in front of her this time. She just can't sit still, or so it would seem. "Blessed? Yes, I suppose you would be. I'm hoping for the same thing with Iesath..." Of course, she has no idea, "Work? We're doing quite well, I suppose. She's confident that we know everything, but I'm not so sure sometimes."
[Read her pose wrong - bad me]
Kinoa's hand jiggles a bit in her pocket. "Everything, really?" she asks, tilting her head to the side and regarding the greenrider curiously. "Do you think you could stand to learn a bit more?"
Auralia frowns, and nods, "Of course. I /don't/ think we do, and I'm always ready to learn more, I guess. Why do you ask?" She looks right back at the Wingleader, watching her with a curious look.
Kinoa clamps down on the redfruit with her mouth and digs around in her pocket a moment longer, finally pulling out a tangle of cords. "Because," she says, then pauses to take the fruit out of her mouth. "Because I've been watching the two of you, and I think you'd make an excellent addition to Starflame wing," she says, grinning.
Auralia blinks for a moment, and then stands, rather shakily, "Thats excellent news, Ki-er, Wingleader. I would be honored to join your wing, thank you!"
Kinoa laughs, tossing the redfruit onto the ground so she can unravel the cords enough to resemble a proper knot. "Good," she says, handing the wingrider's knot to the now-officially graduated rider. "We'll be honored to have you. And you can call me Kinoa, 'less I'm yelling at you about something." She winks.
Auralia nods, taking the knot in her hands and examining it closely, "Alright, Kinoa. I'll just have to make sure that you don't have anything to yell at me about, then." She grins, holding the knot up in the air to get another look at it, "Wow."
Kinoa giggles, wiping her sticky hand on the tail of her shirt. "I think you'll do just fine," she says with a grin. "Just stay away from K'rill and his schemes, I thought maybe I could trade him away to another wing after the wingtaps were finished but no such luck." She sighs and then shrugs. "It is -never- a good idea to 'borrow' a couple of the Lord Holder's prized breeding stock."
Auralia blinks, wrinkling her eyebrows for a moment, "Borrow a couple prized breeding stock? I don't think I want to know...I'll head your advice, thank you very much."
Kinoa grimaces just thinking about it. "Baleenth is out of hand, really, but there are ways of dealing with that. Anyway," she says, abruptly stopping and looking up at Auralia. "You can start up tomorrow, I'm sure K'tor won't have me throwing off his schedule again, and there's time to settle in before the next Fall."
Auralia nods, standing up straighter, and only just refraining from saluting her wingleader....She smiles, "Thank you, Kinoa. We'll do our best, I'm sure."
Kinoa grins, herself barely managing to refrain from ruffling Auralia's hair. "I know you will, s'why I picked you." She bends over and picks up her redfruit remains from off of the ground and then straightens. "I'd better get rid of this, and get back to work. See you tomorrow." And with that, she heads off, whistling.
Auralia nods, calling after Kinoa, "Alright, see you tommorow." She doesn't, for a wonder, say thank you again. Three or four is quite enough for one meeting, don't you think?
Kinoa walks toward the Landing field, full of dragons.
Kinoa has left.
You meander out onto the beach of the big lagoon.
Auralia ambles down towards the beach, bouncing. Sort of. She stops when she spies C'ley, and dances up to him, "Hi, C'ley! How is ya today?"
"Is good, I think, I mean I was good before so I guess I am good now and well it is relaxing and all but I doubt I am in as good as mood as you are in 'cause you seem to be really happy, I mean you are really happy arn't you?" says C'ley.
Auralia giggles, "You never did grow out of that, did you?" She smiles, nodding, "I'm in a good mood, I guess. I'm glad you're not bad."
"Well I don't do it as much." C'ley says as to prove that yes he can control his speaking habits for periods of time but he will not mention on just how short that lasts. "Sit down and explain why you are so hyped."
Auralia laughs, and plops herself on the ground near C'ley, "Sure, why not. I'm not on duty 'til tommorow." Leaning back in the afternoon sun, she doesn't say anything for a little while, just relaxing and letting her legs tan just a little bit, "Kinoa came 'round today."
Kina came aroudn what? I mean did she run around a ball or something, I mean I would find that funny I would think but I don't know if I would be skipping 'cause of seeing that." C'ley says after you speak, see he has learnt to stay quiets for periods of time.
Auralia smiles, obviously not taking too much notice of C'ley's control at the moment, "No, she came to talk to me. Asked me to join her wing." She wrinkles her brow, and then adds, "More told me, actually."
"Oh, so you are part of a wing now, I mean so you fight thread and everything hrm?" says the lad who is too young to be joining any wing. "Well are you happy, I mean then again you must be happy 'cause you was skipping and everything so I would gues that yes you are happy 'cause of that unless something else happenede that you have yet to tell me which is quite possible."
Auralia frowns, "You're still too young? How old are you?" She smiles again, and nods, "Course I'm happy. I didn't want to be a wingless weyrling forever. And I'm sixteen now, old enough to do it. SO yeah, I'm happy. And no, thats about it, C'ley."
"Well I am not sixteen yet, I mean I am not that close to it either, I mean, I still have time to go and so they said I was too young so I can't join a wing yet so well, it just will have to wait a tad, that is all." C'ley says in responce.
Auralia just has to laugh, "Never a straight answer...never a straight answer. Never mind. It won't be that long, I guess. Still, it must be nice for you not to be an official weyrling any more, huh?"
"Never a straight answear?" C'ley looks confused on that before saying "Well I am, a weyrling I mean, well 'cause I am not a rider so I kinda am a weyrling, but not really 'cause I do everything else, just can't fight thread so yeah, I mean uhm, well you know what I mean, right?"
Auralia nods, rubbing a mosquito bite on her leg with a sigh, "I know what you mean. And don't worry, I was talking to myself." She grins at C'ley, and looks back at him, "Don't be confused, really."
"Oh I am not confused, I mean I know exactly what I mean." C'ley says. "I mean everybody thinks I am confused I just have trouble speaking, I mean Sahath know's I am not confused at all."
Auralia watches C'ley carefuly, and finaly nods, "I guess he does. And you do get your point across, which is all that matters. Sorry, I mean...whatever."
With a loud cherrful laugh C'ley says "Now don't you get confused, 'cause well that isn't a good thing, I mean well it isn't a confused thing some of the times but I guess it could be good on a couple times. I mean I shouldn't say I am never confused 'cause I am at times, I mean sometimes I want the redfruit bubblies and sometimes the blue blubblies but then I usually just have both 'cause well that works out the best, don't you think?"
Auralia giggles, "Now you're talking! Er, a lot, but anyway. Glad to hear you laugh for once, C'ley." She grins, "No, I'll try not to get confused. Its hard, you know, though. Bubblies? Well yes, I think you're right, I think they should make 'em both flavours at once."
"Now I am talking, but I talk alot, I mean I always get in trouble for talking too much." C'ley says with a confused expression on his face now but it quickly fades "Both flavours at once? Well that would be good, I mean but I like each flavour on it's own, I mean that way you can mix and match in cause you want an apple and a redfruit pie or a blue and an apple instead."
Auralia shakes her head, "If you learn one thing in life, C'ley - is there any way to shorten your name? C'ley takes to long to say - its not to take things on their face value." She pauses, and then blushes, "Now I sound like my father when he was reprimanding me. Hmph. And with the bubblies, you're probably right. Never mind."
"Well you can still call me Craw, 'cause I mean that is who I am, C'ley isn't that hard to say, I mean and all but Craw is good too 'cause that is who I am." says the Creepy Crawley one.
Auralia stiffles a giggle, "Is it hard to get used to, having a new name all of a sudden? I think it would be. Alright, Craw it is. I'll try and remember. It just rolls of the tongue..." Auri grins, "I could never remember to call you C'ley before, and now..."
(C'ley goes to bed - being very early for him)
