You walk over to the bustling Weyrhall.
Largon nods towards Aithne slightly before disappearing through the doors, with a light grin, "Of course. Where else can I find botherable people?" And then, he is gone.
Largon walks toward the Courtyard.
Nareisa heads to klah, she heads directly to klah. She does not pass the hearth, she does not collect any food. She doesn't seem to notice people as she makes her way there.
Fantina watches Largon go, looking quite thoughtful. Finally she goes back to eating, a small smile on her face.
Auralia has arrived. And there are people. Not surprising, but this is how it is. She strides towards serving table, pouring klah, and, without noticing much about who exactly is about, finds a nearby seat.
Aithne glances over at the newcomers, sipping her klah thoughtfully.
Kayjay watches all the distracted people come and go. "Well, Aithne? Extra reading just for you?"
Nareisa glances up at Auralia as she goes past her. "Hi," she says quietly, whether or not the Weyrsecond catches it.
Aithne laughs softly, "I will share." She notes before explaining, "The history of Southern Weyr, with speciall attention to the weyr leadership."
Kayjay hmms. "Actually kind of sounds interesting. It is not like it is tithe records for the past 200 turns."
Auralia did catch it. Oh dear. "Hello, Wingsecond," she says, levely. Well, mostly levely. Followed by a quiet: "And how is...J'ren."
"I think that comes next." Aithne notes, raising an eyebrow slightly at Auralia's question
Nareisa glances at Auralia "I have no idea. I haven't seen him for quite a while. I assume he's well," it's on an even, level, but quiet tone. "I'm not allowed in the barracks, you see," she bites her lip. "I need to speak to my brother at some point too."
Kayjay blinks at the mention of J'ren as well but pointedly keeps her eyes on Aithne."So tell me, is it all boring stuff you are reading?"
"I'm sure you do," agrees Auralia, just as level-toned. "And you need to see K'tor, as well."
"Pretty much so." Aithne responds, working at directing her attention solely at Kayjay.
Kayjay clears her throat and looks at her mug. "Do you have a good harper tutor at least? They might make things more interesting with little tidbits about the individuals mentioned?" She rambles on."I was always more interested in people than dates and figures any day."
Nareisa actually looks up for a moment. "Do I?"
Auralia manages to put in a calm sip of her klah, and then nods. Just slowly. "Indeed you do. As soon as possible, in fact. With luck, he might have calmed down a little by then."
Aithne nods her head quickly, beginning to warm to the subject. "Those are my favourites...Its one of my favourite parts of the training..." Her voice trails off as she peers at Auralia.
Nareisa glances back up at her. "Calmed down?"
Auralia may not have noticed how everyone is looking at her, but she's almost enjoying herself. If she wasn't upset. "You heard me. It would appear that he's not on very good terms with yourself. Consider yourself warned, yes?" A pause, and: "Unless you can convince him otherwise, and I failed --er." She stops. She didn't mean to hint at that. "He wants your knot," she concludes, finally.
Kayjay is not looking at Auralia. Nope. She looks back to Aithne. Err yes, I can imagine so...." She trails off at the mention of knots.
Nareisa pales somewhat. "He wants my...? Oh Faranth, take it," she pulls it off, ripping her shirt. "I probably don't deserve it anyway."
Auralia blinks. Hey. That wasn't supposed to happen. At all. "No." She says, perhaps even a little stubbornly. "That's not my job." No, she's just the messanger. What joy.
Aithne's eyes widen, betraying the fact that she was listening. "Nareisa...Maybe he has cooled off by now?" She suggests helpfully then looks back to Kayjay and nods as if nothing had just occurred.
Nareisa continues to hold a knot. "Why would he? I'm sure both he and N'all think I deliberately sabotaged a weyrling's training. It certainly wasn't deliberate, but, obviously I'm nowhere near responsible enough for the job."
Kayjay winces in sympathy, is that a shadow of faint guilt on her face? Nah; she sighs, looking at her mug. "Leadership can be hard.."
Auralia continues to refuse to take the knot. Or even look at it. "What does it matter what he thinks? He didn't ask me to take it, and I refuse to do so. If you must, cut it into shreds, or something equally silly, but don't give it to me. It doesn't go with Iesath."
"It was just a -kiss-." Aithne notes before peering at Nareisa, "Right?"
Nareisa looks at it. "A leader should have more sense, they shouldn't do stupid things without thinking first. They should be particularly careful about things like that." She stares at the ground. "If they're lonely and they want something they can't have, it shouldn't come into it. Shoudl it?"
Kayjay mutters to Aithne, "... and... towards... and... that position. SHe... shouldn't be breaking the rules with... It gives... to..."
Auralia umms. What to say? "A leader isn't perfect? A leader can make mistakes." Unless you're in K'tor's weyr, which means that you quite simply cannot. "Don't ask me, Reis. I'm just the one who has to do the dirty work."
Nareisa glances at Aithne. "Yes, just a kiss. Just one. But still, I should know better, my brother is the Weyrlingmaster for Faranth's sake!" She glances at Auralia, and says "K'tor knows me too well."
Aithne listens carefully to Kayjay, falling silent before sighing. She mutters to Kayjay, "... just... it just... of..." She glances over at Nareisa, her expression turning thoughtful.
Auralia mm-hmms. "Well, that's the question. Was it just a kiss? Was it a little peck, or a full on..." and for failure of a better word, "Snog?" She shrugs, "We all make mistakes. I'm not saying that yours was acceptable, but I refuse to take your knot."
Kayjay listens to Nareisa and then slaps her hand to her forehead. "Oh. I forgot about that relationship." She shakes her head to Aithne. "Another thing about leadership.... things can't just sort of happen. "
Aithne ohs thoguhtfully as she sips her klah
Nareisa pops the knot in her pocket then. "Well it wasn't just a peck," she says. "But it wasn't like I planned it or anything. I didn't even know he felt like that until... but that's no excuse, is it?"
Kayjay beams at Nareisa, romantic at heart she is. "Oh! Riesa, that is wonderful!" She blushes and coughs. "Errrh yay. Nice juice."
Auralia shrugs. "I'm sorry then. I just really, really hope that I don't have to witness K'tor when he sees you." She shakes her head sadly, "Sorry. Just sorry." She glances at the mug in her hand. Cold. "Not really, no."
Nareisa actually blushes a bit at Kayjay. Ahem. But Aura's comment does bring her back to earth, or Pern even. "Well, maybe I should go see him. Get it over with or something."
Fantina suddenly stands up as she finishes her food, carrying it to the cleaning bin, and then going back to sit down with her klah.
Jayla walks toward the Courtyard.
Auralia shuffles about uncomfortably, "Er, I don't know. Is it wise?"
Aithne echos Kayjay's smile before noting. "J'ren is just a wonderful person." And she too falls silent.
Nareisa sends Aithne a warm smile. Well, someone knows how to get that expression out of her, anyway. "Yes," she says. To Auralia she says "Do you think he'll just forget about it?"
Kayjay continues to look a bit uncomfortable. She peers at Nareisa for a moment and bites her lip.
Fantina stands up and walks out, mumbling something about weyrlings, and 'too much kissing in this weyr', as she heads out.
Auralia pauses. "Welll....No? But if you wait, he might calm down?"
Fantina walks toward the Courtyard.
Nareisa shrugs. "Maybe I deserve to get the full benefit of his anger. Besides, Kat... well never mind."
Auralia raises a brow. "If you're that brave. I wouldn't be."
Kayjay mutters to Aithne, "... to... how she felt... She... she... in... class.... to... how..."
Nareisa shrugs. "I'd rather have it over and done with."
Kayjay gazes at Nareisa, sorrowfully.
Auralia looks actually rather uncomfortable. Confrontation was never her favourite activity. "Up to you. Go ahead, then." Doom. Watch Nareisa go to her impending doom.
Kayjay can't stand it and blurts out. "I told her to do it.. Well, not to kiss him but to tell him that she cared. Its' my fault."
Nareisa blinks over at Kayjay, pausing in her death march. "It's not YOUR fault."
Auralia blinks. That wasn't expected. "Kayjay? Oh shards." She emits a groan, sinking her face into her hands. "Don't let Kat know, huh? You never know, the way he is at the moment."
Aithne takes a moment to consider Kayjay's words, realization spreading across her features. "It wasn't you, Kayjay. They acted on that." She pauses to consider Nareisa and nodding, a confused look on her face, "The way he is at the moment?" She asks.
Kayjay blinks. "But I told you to tell him how you felt and I know you always confuse what I say and twist it around and shells, when will I learn?" She frowns. "I am so so sorry, Nareisa."
Nareisa trundles over to near Kayjay and says quietly "Kayjay, it's NOT your fault. And please don't take that on you. I like you. I was hoping you'd like to be my friend." She frowns at the ground. "Well I was hoping it before I was so silly and disappointed everyone."
Kayjay shakes her head and wipes a stray tear. "You sure now?" She frowns. "Hey, you are my friend. We all do stupid things. Or we want to do stupid things.."
Auralia relaxes. Slightly. And sits there. Oh, and stares at her cold klah. "Seems to me like you're punishing yourself like that, Reis. Maybe...hmm." She shuts up.
Nareisa sighs. "Well, it's just, I think you're really nice, Kayjay." She shrugs. "Why shouldn't I, Aura? I don't suppose Kat would disagree."
Kayjay sits back down and takes a deep breath. "I still think I need to button my lip. I talk way too much." She sighs again.
Aithne sips her klah slowly, considering the others for a moment. "I would think it would be better to let K'tor calm down, then talk to him."
"Oh no," Aura explains, "If I tell him that, he might feel sorry for you." She bobs her head towards Aithne, "My idea, too."
Kayjay hmms. "I don't know, Aithne. What if K'tor comes -looking- for her?"
Nareisa shrugs. "Maybe he'll toss me out of the weyr."
"Hide?" Aithne suggests before pausing. "Or tell him you need to...do something." She finishes weakly.
Auralia snorts. "Toss the mother of his son out? I don't think even K'tor could do that." Although her face indicates that she has a few doubts.
Nareisa sighs. "Well maybe I should've thought of that before I did it."
Kayjay frowns. "But..but he wouldn't do that. I mean, where would she go?"
Nareisa shudders. "I'm NOT going back to Honshu."
Auralia raises a brow, "Besides, I think K'tor needs agreement from Telinda and maybe even me as well before he can kick you out." She grins, "You could go to Ista. Or Ierne. Warmer and all."
Nareisa mutters "I don't know anyone in Ista or Ierne."
Kayjay hmms. "I have family at Igen. You would fit in nice there." She waves vaguely. "Lots of sand though. Gets in your teeth."
Auralia looks sympathetic. Well, probably. "I've got an uncle at Ierne. I think so, anyway. He'd be nice." And lecherous.
Nareisa wipes a tear from her cheek. "I'd miss everyone though."
Auralia looks at the table, "We'd miss you, too."
Aithne wrinkles her nose, "I don't think you will be sent away for just a kiss. Are you sure that was all that happened?" She asks as she considers Nareisa.
Kayjay shakes her head, looking at Aithne. "No, I can't see that happening at all. But I can see some sort of discipline happening."
Auralia raises a brow, considering, "Dawn sweeps forever?"
Nareisa sighs. "Well if he's going to demote me.." sigh.
Kayjay hmms. "Have you talked to your Wingleader, at least, Nareisa?"
Nareisa stares at her feet. "I didn't want D'thyn to know how badly I'd disappointed him."
Auralia points out, "It might be better coming from you. Kat's not likely to be..reasonable about it. And he'll find out, one way or another."
Kayjay thinks for a moment. She sips at her juice and taps the side of the mug as she tries to form her thoughts into words. "D'thyn is a pretty reasonable man, and you could pratice being yelled at by him." She pauses "I don't think he yells as loud at K'tor does."
Nareisa shrugs. "D'thyn has never yelled at me before."
"He understands about plums," says Auralia, mystically.
Aithne rests her chin on the palm of her hand, listening quietly.
Nareisa ohs. "I don't think plums have much to do with it." Then she says "I ripped my shirt."
Auralia ums. "Oops? Maybe you could just sew it back up with the knot?"
Kayjay nods. "Indeed you did, Riesa but I think it is mendable." She smiles at Auralia. "Excellent suggestion. The knot would cover up the rip nicely. No one would ever know."
Aithne nods her head quickly in agreement, "Noone would be able to tell the diference."
Nareisa shrugs. "There's no point, since Kat will be wanting it."
Auralia makes a face. "Surely there's something you can do to make him change his mind? You'd waste a good shirt, otherwise."
Aithne hmmms, 'Maybe he just needs to yell a bit and then it will all be over?"
Kayjay hmms. "What happened to J'ren in all this?"
Nareisa sighs. "I don't know. I don't want to ask, you know? I miss seeing him."
"She's not allowed alone with weyrlings," Auralia pipes up, oh-so-carefuly. "And not allowed to see him at all. For the moment, anyway."
Aithne sighs, "I think I came in on the tail end of it. Nothing to bad, that I remember."
Kayjay blinks. "Oh dear." She bites her lip. "Maybe me being D'ryn's mentor isn't a very good idea. But we fight more than anything, so maybe we are safe.."
Nareisa sighs. "I hope N'all wasn't too angry with him. I hope he hasn't changed his mind about.., well, I don't suppose he would, but."
Aithne shakes her head, "No, I don't think he was."
Kayjay quirks an eyebrow. "About what?"
Auralia shakes her head sadly. "I don't think so. K'tor wouldn't let him, anyway. Sorry. After weyrlinghood, you can see him again. Not -that- long." She gives Kayjay a half grin, "You'll be fine. At least you see him. V'tali's -never- around." A yawn. A grumble. "Shards. I'm off. Night. Oh, and good luck, Reisa."
Kayjay waves to Auralia. "See you..and err sleeep well?"
Nareisa sighs. "If he hasn't thrown me out before..." she's just such an optimist. "Thanks, Aura."
Auralia bobs her head, "You're welcome, Nareisa." She grins, waving, "I will!"
You walk over to the Courtyard.
