+*> Iesath emerges from Between with a blast of cold air!

+*> Orchellth soars over from the sky over the center of Honshu Weyr.

+*> Iesath emits a loud bugle! This done, the rainforest valley green begins to wing lower in the sky, wings outstretched and cruising through the thermals around her.

You soar to the river meadow.

"Yes, yes, Iesath. Lovely snow, much better than all that rain at home. See? I told you we'd get here eventually. I just had to finish those hides!" Auralia stops, and peers around Iesath. "Oh, hello."

+*> Aria is standing next to a wooden fence, a nail in one hand as she tries to pound it into the fence with a hammer in the other hand. She stops mid-pound as she sees the green land and gladly sets the hammer and nail down to walk over. "Hi!" She peers up trying to make out her knot to see if she's a Honshu rider she just hasn't met yet or from else weyr and needs to give duties and all that.

With a parting pat, and whispered word of love, you slip down Iesath's side, barely using the straps, and her offered foreleg, with much practice at this. A moment later, your feet touch the ground again, and you lean up to touch 'Sath's head softly, as she leans down to nudge you gently.

Auralia straightens herself, saluting with a quick gesture, "Southern's Duties--" Pause, "Oh, you're a candidate." Mild grin ensues, the salute dropped. "Sorry, although I don't have any problem with that. I might get in trouble if anyone important is around, though."

Aria giggles, gives her a salute instead. "But I have to salute you. Oh, and Honshu's duties to Southern." She glances around. "Don't see anyone, but they're lurking just waiting for one of us to mess up," she says with a wide grin.

Auralia bobs her head cheekily, "A shame, that. Salutes are so...strict. Don't you think?" The Weyrsecond does, however, extend a hand for the shaking, "Auralia, Iesath's of Southern." She peers about, "Phew. I'd hate to cause bad blood."

Aria takes her hand in her and shakes it, not to hard, but no wimpy either, then releases it again. "I'm Aria, as you noticed a candidate here. I'm orginally from Cove though." She smiles, "Oh, I'm sure you wouldn't." The smile then turns into a mishevous grin, "They haven't found out about the other stuff yet anyway."

"Other stuff?" Auralia questions quietly, but eyes glinting, "You sound like my sort of person." Hand is removed, after shaking in return. "Well met, and all that. And congratulations, I suppose." A pause, "Cove? Nice place, that."

Aria nods perkily, "Pranks, the usual stuff." She giggles again, "Purple candidates." Then, "Thanks. Yeah, it is. Warmer than here. It gets too cold. Kills all the flowers."

Auralia giggles, shoving her hands into her somewhat battered riding jacket pockets. "Purple? I did blue. Once. A long time ago. Amusing, isn't it?" She glances about, huffing a little, "It -is- cold here. Southern's wonderful. Except for the moment -- all rainy. Some at Boll, where I come from."

Aria grins brightly, "Really? That is funny." She reaches up and rubs at her freckled nose. "Warm weather is the best. Rainy isn't fun, but" she shrugs, "it keeps everything green. I don't how those poor people survive way up north where it's almost always cold. Mom says you get used to it, but I don't know."

One of Auralia's fingers wiggles out of her pocket, and is shoved back in, accompanied by a frown from the greenrider. It got so tatty. Eek. Eyes go up again, and she nods, "It is. You should visit Southern one day -- wonderful place. Of course, all the warm Weyrs are lovely. Igen, Ista, Southern, Ierne." She nods her head sagely, "Aye, and plants are necessary, I suppose."

Aria slowly nods, then says, "But I've heard Igen is all desert. So I don't know about there. I have an aunt at Southern. Do you know Kayjay?" Her lips curve upward in a smile that warms her face is not the air around it, "Yes, they are. They make place look so much nicer to," she comment with enthuisiasm, then adds proudly. "I was one of Cove's gardeners."

Auralia's does an effective wrinkle, "True. That'd be kinda bad. No plants." She stands up a little straighter, head nodding enthusiasticly, "Kayjay? Oh, of course I know Kayjay. We're...friends?" It doesn't quite cover it. Perhaps. "You were? Cove has lovely gardens. Congratulations on that."

Aria's back straightens, as she smile proudly, "Thank you, I just do my best." She pushes some disobedient hairs back behind her ears, "I'll have to tell Aunt Kayjay that I saw you next time she visits then."

Auralia's nod is brightly executed, "Oh, definately. She never mentioned you. How are you related to her again? Aunt, was it?"

Aria lifts her shoulders in a light shrug, "My dad's, well, really step-dad, but I call him Dad," Got that? "sister. He's got tons of brothers so I'm not suprised she never said anything about me." She grins, "Far too many brothers to keep track of all their kids."

Auralia rubs her head curiously, finally remembering to remove her helmet and shove it towards Iesath, who is gleefuly frolicing in the snow. Ignore the green lump, will you? "Step dad? Sorry, I'm curious. What happened to your real dad?" She nods her head, adding, "She's got like 30 nieces, I think she said."

Aria giggles as watches Iesath, then looks back at Auralia. "It's alright, I don't mind. He's still at Ierne Weyr. He's a brownrider there, T'ar. Mom moved to Cove and married Dad after I was born." She grins, "I wonder if she even remebers all of our names..."

Auralia didn't hear that last bit. She blinks, and peers across in surprise. "T'ar, did you say? At...Ierne?" Even Iesath pauses, turning to watch her rider curiously.

Aria frowns, looking puzzled at Auralia's suprise. "Yeah..." she says slowly, "T'ar, brown Ranivath's rider at Ierne. Umm, why?" she asks studying Auralia's reaction.

Auralia's head nods numbly; her eyes looking up and down Aria with a curious fascination. "Oh. Do you.." She trails off, shuffling her feet, "Do you know what his name was, before he Impressed? And where he came from?" Panic sounds through her voice.

Aria titls her head to one side, eyebrows lowering as just looks even more puzzled. "Tomar. From? Oh, umm, somewhere up north I think. I don't remember." She glances around, "Is something wrong?"

"Maybe." Auralia's voice sounds certain again. She tries one last question, "Do you know about any of his family? Brothers?" Her feet tap impatiently, fingers fiddling with each other.

Aria stares out over Auralia's shoulder, eye focused on a vague something on the horizon as she furrows her brow in thought. Finally, her eyes focus back on Auralia's face, "I think he's mentioned sisters before. Maybe. But I don't remember anything about brothers." She lifts one shoulder in a half shrug, "He doesn't talk about his family much, at least not me."

Auralia's nod is almost inperceptible. For a moment, she's silent. And then: "I have an uncle, who was called Tomar. He left, before I was born, even. Rumours came that he Impressed, but we never knew for sure." A half-smile punctuates her lips, "Do I take this to mean that you're a cousin or something?" Wow. Family, in three easy steps.

Auralia ums. She looks all....well, not exactly uncomfortable. Just slightly surprised. "Funny, I never thought I had any cousins." She promptly pauses again, "Does this mean I'm related to Kayjay, too?" Aura's never really been any good at figuring out the obvious.

Aria smiles as she front teeth on her lower lip, "Well, I guess you do now." She pauses as well, then nods, "I suppose so, in rather odd way through me." She promptly grins, "Don't ask me what'd you call each though. My family is complicated enough. Anything past cousin, they just get called 'relative'."

Auralia giggles, releasing some of her attention. "I can be creative. Surprise her completely, with luck. Second Aunt, maybe? She'd like that." Auralia has been known to call her aunt as it is. "This could be fun." Her head tilts up, "Aria, I'm very pleased to meet you."

Aria smiles warmly, "I'm happy to meet you too." She waggles her eyebrows, "Another reason to visit Southern sometime. Are you going to tell her why you're second aunts or whatever you both are?" She then giggles, "Even if you did you'd probably have to remind her that I'm her neice among the horde of neices she has."

Auralia giggles, digging her hands about in her pockets again. "Definately. If you Impress, I'll be there watching. And you can visit on your own, later, anyway. It'd be nice to see you about." She pauses, as if considering. "I think I'll keep her in suspense for a while. Sort of confuse her. Make her think I'm proddy or something."

Aria smiles brightly, "Thanks! I'll try to look for you on the sands. That is if I have time to before all the eggs start cracking." She giggles, laughter in her eyes. "That'd be funny. As good as dying people blue, or purple."

Auralia snickers brightly. "Oh yes. I can't wait. It's a pity you won't be able to see it." She shivers, and digs her hands deeper. "You probably won't," the greenrider decides, "Have time to look. But I'll be there, cheering you on."

Aria grins in appreciation, "You'll have to tell about it later then." She nods, "Well, I'm sure I'll need all the cheering on I can get. Lots really candidates, and I'm just one."

"You've got the blood. It's got to count for -something-," insists Auralia, "But we'll see. The dragon decides."

Aria smiles, "I hope so." Her gaze darts over toward Iesath and back, "Have you ever asked how she decided? Do they really just /know/?"

Iesath peers up from her intense snow investigation at that, crooning quietly. Auralia laughs, patting the green on the forelimb. "I tried, but she'd forgotten. They forget so soon. But she simply tells me, all the time, that she honestly did just know. She knew that I was perfect for her, and no one else was." She shrugs, uncomfortably, "It's hard to describe, you know?"

Aria nods, a small, wry smile on her lips, "Yeah, I've heard that a lot. That it's hard to describe." She pushes the smile wider, "I just I'll just have to wait and find out, if I do Impress."

Auralia's certain: "You will. You have to." Iesath snorts, and Aura giggles, "Well, I think so, anyway. And if not, well, maybe we'll nab you next time, and that'd be better. Keep warm weyrs in the family and all."

Aria's smiles is more genuine this time. "If you say so." She raises an eyebrow at Iesath, "She doesn't agree? Or does she just want me at Southern instead."

Auralia just can't stop smiling. It's addictive. A real drug. "Oh, she won't disagree, but she insists that I can say for sure, and neither can she. But I think she'd prefer to have searched you herself. She's like that."

Aria smiles right back, it's contagious too. "Well, if I don't Impress this time, even if you are sure I will, maybe she can search me later. When either you or I come to visit. But if you visit you should try to drag Kayjay along with you."

"I most certainly will! She ought to come and visit you. It's the Auntly thing to do." Auralia's head bobs firmly, "Definately." Iesath lets out a rumble, and Aura frowns. "Well, if we must, Iesath." She glances towards Aria, "We have to get back to Southern, I'm sorry. But we'll come back!"

Aria grins, "You do that. See you later then! It was nice to meet you," a slight pause and brighter smile," cousin Auralia."

Auralia waves, laughing, "Bye, Cousin Aria!"

A hand placed on an edge of Iesath's straps, you swing yourself up, standing on her foreleg for only a moment before swinging yourself up the rest of the way. She watches you, warbling excitedly, happy to be flying with you once more. You lean over to pat her neck affectionately, and she warbles again, eyes whirling happily.

+*> Iesath crouches, and then, she's gone.
